Angelo’s Wine Bar, an Italian fusion shared plates restaurant, originally opened in 1962 as a casual take out pizzeria. As the neighborhood grew so did Angelo’s. In 2015 the restaurant closed for a massive facelift which included launching a wine program and new menu. Chef Julia Helton's rustic menu, featuring Midwest ingredients from valued local purveyors, takes its cue from her travels to South East Asia, South America, and Europe. Beyond reflecting the aromas, flavors and colors of the Italian explorers in its cuisine, Angelo's wine list focuses on boutique vineyards from Italy, France, and Spain with a nod to several excellent American producers. Wine and the food it pairs with remains at Angelo’s core. Curated by our sommelier Georges Bredoux the wine list features small producers from France, Italy, Spain and America, the list offers 101 wines priced between $30 and $90 a bottle with a reserve list for those who want to splurge. Thirty wines are offered by the glass.Angelo’s Wine Bar, an Italian fusion shared plates restaurant, originally opened in 1962 as a casual take out pizzeria. As the neighborhood grew so did Angelo’s. Best Cheese Pizza Ever!

This restaurant has been a favorite of my family's for about 15 years. We especially like their superbowl pizza. It is full of cheesy saucy deliciousness. With other toppings or without, it is a consistent winner. If you aren't in the mood for pizza, Angelo's has many other tasty items to satisfy your cravings. Portions are decently sized, and you may even have enough to eat at a second meal. Delivery has always been stellar as well. Even on the nastiest of evenings their drivers have always gotten our food to us in a timely manner, and piping hot to boot.
