Average at best. Paid 11$ for 1/2 the sandwich you'd get just about anywhere else. This is NOT Chicagos #1 Italian beef

Great sandwich! great service!

THE OWNERS OF THIS DUMP REALLY ARE LIVING IN FANTASY LAND. THE BEEFS THEY RAVE ABOUT AND SAY ARE THE BEST IN TOWN ARE HORRIBLE. THE SAUCE OR DIPPING BROTH SMELLS LIKE DOG POOP. THIS PLACE HAS THE BALLS TO SAY THEY ARE NUMBER "1" !? ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS GO TO A NEARBY PORTILLOS AND TRY THERE BEEFS, AND YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DUMP AGAIN. PORTILLOS BEEFS ARE 100 X'S BETTER THAT AL'S. AL'S ARE TOO EXPENSIVE, STINK LIKE CRAP AND THERES NOWHERE TO SIT DOWN AND ENJOY YOUR CRAPPY BEEF. THEY ARE CHEAP, OVERATED AND DOWNRIGHT SMELL.

Al's Beef on Taylor is the WORST! I've heard great things about Al's and given it many chances to fulfill its reputation. I have been there a number of times and gotten fries that taste like they have been heated up in a microwave, service that would make cab drivers look good, and a price that matches a seated restaurant. DO NOT give this place your money!!! If you want quality food for a fair price and a friendly face, go to Carm's on Carpenter and Polk

Excellent beef sandwiches. Big and juicy. Okay prices. No dining area. They have a table type thing and you can stand and eat by the window. They stay busy. Workers are nice. Excellent location. Worth the trip down to Taylor Street.

Fantastic!! I'm originally from Chicago and we when were back "home", we had to have an Italian Beef sandwich!! Al's is the best!!!
