This place is amazing! This is "the Harvard of bartending schools." My mom and I took this class together and although she didn't get to finish due to a bit of a health scare, she LOVED the class and plans on taking it again in the future to get started in a bartending career of her own. If you're serious about wanting to become a bartender, then take their 2 week course. I looked at quite a few other bartending schools before settling on Alist and there is such a difference. The other bartending schools just want to teach you recipes and how to make "10 drinks in 10 minutes" and unfortunately they don't really seem to care about anything other than getting your money. Alist teaches so much more than that and Greg and Anthony seem to be genuinely interested in sending superior bartenders out into the world. Don't get me wrong, you still need to know stuff like your recipes and the difference between a tall glass and pint glass and they won't go easy on you about that stuff, but you also learn cash-handling, customer service, how to bartend in high volume situations, how to NOT SPILL, and a whole lot more. I'm already looking for bartending jobs after this class and I know for a fact that I would not have had the confidence to go out and do that before taking the class.



On a side note, I especially want to encourage you to take this class if you're a woman because we need more kickass female bartenders out there and this class will help you get there if you really want it.

If you are serious about becoming a competent, gainfully employed bartender, you know you need to learn from the best. (And no, that mixology app on your phone won't cut it!) Do your life a favor and enroll at A-List Startenders. A-List Startenders far surpassed my expectations. After researching several other schools in the Chicago area, I realized that A-List is, without a doubt, in a class of its own. What puts this school light years ahead of any other is the quality of instruction coupled with an unparalleled modern facility. The owners/instructors are some of the most dedicated, personable and professional individuals I have ever met. As industry experts, they have put in an incredible amount of effort to make their all-encompassing curricula fun and fresh. Since you can only properly learn this trade by actually doing it, the extensive hands-on component of the course was priceless. From day one, we utilized the bona fide multi-station bar as well as interactive Smart Board technology that is not even available in most colleges. I am entirely confident in my experience at A-List Startenders and cannot wait to put my skills to work.

A list startenders is an amazing bartending school. The teachers are bartenders themselves so they know what they are talking about and have been in the industry for years. They have a new innovative way of teaching their students and the training was fun. The facility is amazing as well. They were able to hook us up with a job and everything by the time we graduated from the course. This is by far the best reasonably priced school in chicago. Im glad I had the opportunity to train with awesome bartenders!!!! :) time and money well spent; a skill that lasts a lifetime.

I'll be damned if anyone ever gives this school less than 5 stars. Greg and Anthony genuinely give every bit of knowledge they know. I spent a good week researching bar schools until I read other people's 5 star reviews for this school. They're like a live Dummies book manual for bar-tending. They teach you the art of pouring, the ethics of being a bartender, basic knowledge of alcohol and actual customer and multitasking skills. The classes are interactive and entertaining; perfect for the ADD person. The strive for perfection in you, and serious about teaching you the skills for success. My family owns a bar in a small town, and they were even genuinely kind enough to give me expert advice on methods for improving our business to see profit. We applied the small changes and have seen the results. This isn't a blow off class, you really do have to work at it, but you really do reap the rewards and take with you a new trade. These guys are fun, intelligent, genuine, dedicated, strict and knowledgeable!! You're receiving quality in this class. Any bar would love to have a graduate from here.

Thank you A List for creating a program that is professional and so much fun!! Greg and Anthony are the best when it comes to knowing what separates professional bartenders from all the rest. You can tell that they truly enjoy what they do because they still bartend themselves and really do want to help you. This is not a place where you are going to get ripped off. You will go to class and take tests. Expect to learn everything there is to know about making the most popular drinks, customer service, multi-tasking, sanitation and liquor knowledge/sales. Also, what separates A List from other schools like ABC or Elite is the fact that I was taught in a state of the art environment. The classroom has a touch screen projector, the bar is fully equipped with soda guns and a POS system...WOW!! I already have some interviews too and just got certified! Now, I feel confident and cant wait to start bartending!! Best of luck A List!!

This is the Military of Bartending schools! They will kick your a** in 40 hours of rigorous hands-on training. In the end, if you have the energy and will to learn, you will come out a pretty damn good bartender with a marketable potential greater than any other place. I am confident that graduates from this course can take on graduates from any other school in a reallife situations and go above and beyond any expectations.They teach you secrets and special techniques that will instantlyput you above any average bartender in the city. Don't be fooled by schools that will have you make who knows how many drinks inten minutes. This place will transforms you into an efficient drinkmaking, money handling beast. The instructors are working bartenders in the some of the biggest/busiest clubs in Chicago and are more than willing to share theirknowledge and skills to make you the best bartender you can be.

Greg was awsome and always made the class fun.
