I am what is considered a "snow bird" owning both a home in NY and one in FL. I have unrestricted pistol permits in both NY and FL. On the day before Cabella's 2nd amendment sale I stopped at the Cheektowaga store to check and see if I could purchase a handgun because I no longer possessed a NY drivers license but a FL one.After about an hour the salesman said yes, The next day I returned to the store to see if I could trade in a pistol but we could not agree on a price but I still wanted to purchase another pistol that was on sale. The salesman, after an hour waiting to be served, checked to see if I could purchase a hand gun and he said yes but I had to have a FL carry permit along with a NY permit with my NY address which I had. After much difficulty filling out the 4473 with an IPAD, I have arthritis in my hands, I completed the 4473 and submitted the form to be rejected by Cabellas because I was not a NY state resident. Needless to say I lost my temper a bit after wasting 3 hours of my time. It was ironic that this happened on a sale to celebrate the 2nd amendment.Footnote to this. You cannot try the trigger pull on the firearm until you purchase it and your out of the store and if you don't like it you cannot return it to the store.

They have a really nice guard in the front of the store. This was a great place to find gifts and to show a family member all the interesting gadgets you can get for fishing and hiking.
