TDCs philosophy is PDR...Pride, Determination
and Resilience. These three characteristics have become the foundation that our mission is being built upon. We encourage our children to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments in dance as well as any other avenues that they may pursue. They are encouraged to be determined to pursue their dreams regardless of what they are because "Dreams Do Come True." We strive for resilience ...the ability to recover quickly from life's little stumbles, as they will make us stronger!
The Dance Company was founded by owner an artistic director Charyl Hunt in 2009. It is her vision that if you can dream it, you can achieve it! Her dream has always been to help our generations of today & tomorrow discover & celebrate life through dance. TDC helps dancers learn discipline & teamwork as well as builds self-confidence to know that with a little bit of heart, passion and focus anything is possible.

If you are reading reviews for...

If you are reading reviews for potential dance studios first decide what it is you are looking for in a studio. No matter how many reviews you read understand that ALL studios will have pros and cons. TDC really does provide ALL students no matter the level a chance to perform. They have some really special people as part of their office staff who promote a positive environment. TDC will expose your child to conventions, competitions, local performances, and multiple studio bonding activities. Other than the younger classes or specialty classes there are little to no recreation classes to dance for fun, therefore if you choose TDC most likely your child will be exposed to competition and it is a great place to get your feet wet. If your child really desires to be part of a really competitive dance studio and is an advance level dancer or would like to be this studio may not be the best fit. This is a smaller studio which routines primarily compete in beginner and intermediate levels of competition. While nothing is wrong with competing in these levels as they are for students who are NEW to the dance world who take few hours a week in dance. The amount of time and money you are going to spend to compete at this level at TDC may become questionable over time if true competition is your first priority. Most of the choreography is done by one person (the owner) therefore multiple routines have the same moves that are recycled quite frequently.

Another con is that the teaching staff has a very high turnover therefore the chance to build student teacher relationships that truly promotes growth over time is minimal. Additionally other than one staff member who works there part time, the teaching staff nice as they are, have little dance education credentials. Dance bios are essentially résumés so read them and decide if you are OK with paying an instructor to teach your child and being responsible for your child’s dance education. While previously traveling and performing with professional dance companies and/ or a degree in dance education does not automatically make you a good instructor, it may assist with bringing something a little extra to a very expensive time consuming extracurricular activity.

Overall the studio has great potential, good parents, good kids and good intentions. The studio is a great way to be a part of an extended family and offers many opportunities to see your child on the dance stage, however if exposing your dancer to a truly dance technique focused dance education by multiple qualified experienced staff with innovative choreography in ALL genres of dance this studio may fall short of your expectations.

If you are looking for a positive, nuturing studio where your dancer can grow and have fun at the same time, TDC is an excellent choice. This is only our second year at the studio and our daughter has grown so much!! We are amazed at how far she has come in such a short time.

The studio has a warm and friendly staff that are supportive to all of the dancers, as well as being helpful to the parents. You owe it to your dancer to come check us out!

My daughter turned 2 in July and we recently signed her up for dance with The Dance Company. She asks me everyday if she can go to dance class. She absolutely loves it. Ms. Charyl (owner) and every other member of their team adore each and every one of their students. Not only do they teach dance but also hard work, dedication, life lessons and respect. I am a new mother and have learned so much from so many of the other moms, Ms Charyl and Gram (Charyls mother). I could not be more thrilled to have my daughter as apart of this team and could not imagine her being with another studio. I cant wait to see what the future holds for my new little dancer!!!

My daughter was taking dance at another studio and upon the recommendation of a very good friend we joined the TDC family and that is just what we are at TDC, A FAMILY. Ms Charyl, the owner is very friendly and cares about all of her dancers and calls each of them by name. Gram (Ms. Charyl mother,) shares her wisdom not only with us as parents, but all of our children are her grandchildren. I know that if I have to leave my child she is safe and I don't have to worry about her.

TDC exudes energy and a spirit of togetherness, which I felt I did not have at our previous studio. When you walk in the studio you would not know the difference between those of us that have been there one year and those that have been there since the doors open. My daughter's love for dance is apparent, from the time we get there until the time I have to coax her into leaving, because she has to see the big girls dance.

Make Your Dancer's Dream Come True at The Dance Company.

I am a grandmother of 10 and 7 of my grandchildren danced at The Dance Company last year. Four in the competition program and 3 in the recreational program. This is a great, family oriented studio.

My granddaughters have been on the competition team for 3 years and they get better and better each year.

The owner, Miss Charyl is loving and caring to each and every student in

her studio. She cares about their grades and listens to any problems they might have in or out of the studio.

Her mom (Gram) is a big part of the studio. She is also very loving and caring to all the students. Any problems with costumes just

ask Gram and she will help you.

One of my granddaughters danced with Miss Charyl before she opened her own studio and she has continued to grow unbelievably at TDC.

If you want your child to dance at a loving and caring studio this is the place to be.

TDC is part of our extended family! What a wonderful environment our daughter has had to grow and to thrive as a dancer and as an individual! We have been a part of The Dance Company since day one and cannot imagine being at any other studio. The family atmosphere and genuine friendships developed between families and dancers makes this studio THE place to be!

Miss Charyl is absolutely wonderful in the way that she works with the dancers, encouraging them to give and be their best. She is thorough in her communication with parents and always provides an open door and line of communication. The office staff at TDC is second to none. Gramm and the office assistants make it possible for us as parents to leave our children and know that they are in safe hands!

What a wonderful place to be a part of.

My daughter has been dancing a...

My daughter has been dancing at The Dance Company for the last four years. The amount of growth I’ve seen in her during that time has been beyond remarkable and it’s truly due to the dedication of the teachers and staff at TDC. My daughter was given a chance to “shine” that she may not have received at other studios and as a result has developed a passion/love and ability for dance that even has me in awe. Ms. Charyl (the owner) has a special skill for identifying the unique strengths in each of her students and bringing them out so that each child gets the chance to push themselves beyond even what they think is possible . Under her direction not only has my daughter become a skilled dancer but I’ve seen her develop a self confidence and dedication that carries over into other areas of her life as well.

The staff at TDC also treats the kids as their family – it’s one of the few places that I can drop my child off and know that she will be watched after and protected as if I was there. From Grams (Ms. Charyl’s mom), to the front office staff to the dance instructors to the students – my daughter truly does feel like she has an extended family. Ms. Charyl even arranges outing for the kids to get together and bond outside of the studio. As a result, my daughter has friendships with other dancers she has bonded with that I know will last a lifetime.

Ms. Charyl also requires the kids to show the same commitment to academics as well. Kids can’t participate in the competition teams unless they are maintaining their grades in school and she even has them bring in their report cards!!! All in all – I couldn’t ask for a better dance studio to send my daughter to (as evidenced by this book of a review – smile).

Our daughter started at The Da...

Our daughter started at The Dance Company the day the studio opened...it has been an amazing experience for her. Her individual growth has blown us away!!! Her technique and skills have advanced beyond our expectations. Our son is also involved in B-Boy and Hip Hop Classes at TDC. His confidence has grown, and he is more and more comfortable each time he performs.

TDC gives all of the dancers the opportunity to take classes that will help them grow as both individuals and on a team. This proper mix of classes is what we believe has helped our children build on the dance skills they have mastered and encourages them to continue to grow.

In addition to advancing their dance skills, our children now have a HUGE extended family at TDC. They are looked out for and loved by the owner, staff and other TDC Parents. The atmosphere is one that is full of support for ALL dancers regardless of their level or number of years dancing. The dancers truly care for one another and want to see each other succeed and will help each other do so.

We highly recommend TDC for your dancer.
