Providence Baptist Church was founded in the Southern Baptist tradition, which includes a strong belief in local church autonomy and the priesthood of all believers. That origin influences our local church tradition, particularly in our strong support of missions. We support missions in many different ways. We give primarily through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship on the state level and through the CBF Global Missions. We support Baptist Men of the State Convention of North Carolina and the WMU organization in North Carolina. Our strong and diverse interest in missions motivates us to offer financial support to international mission programs such as the Wycliffe Bible Translators and over thirty (30) local missions endeavors. We believe in ministerial education and we support the various Baptist school and divinity and/or theological institutions, primarily in North Carolina. Through our budget and with special events, the youth of our church earn money every year and invest those funds in missions trips throughout the United States and occasionally international trips. Since 2005, we have been very active in the program "Partners of Hope" mission efforts in Eastern Kentucky through the "Rural Poverty Initiative."
