Magnolia Senior Apartments consists of one and two bedroom apartments (to my knowledge, there are no furnished apartments). They have been open for a year (come April, 2020). It is very convenient for someone without transportation as it is right around the corner from a mall that houses Food Lion and Family Dollar, and across from CVS and Walgreen Pharmacies. I had high hopes when I moved here but they have been smashed. Sure, they offer the amenities in their brochure, but mostly everything is closed after the staff leaves for the day, and the community room, a place where seniors go for coffee in the morning, or just to hang out and mingle with other seniors, is basically closed (and locked) all the time, unless an event is being held, i.e., a birthday party for the month. This is a huge disappointment for me. I don't work, being of a certain age, and therefore, it is important for me that these things be open. I was informed that to use the community room, you have to have at least 15 people. What?? I don't know 15 people I could ask to join me in the community room to do whatever; hence the reason it should be open - TO MEET PEOPLE! The facility does not have the best track record. Many facilities have had things stolen, but the answer is not to lock everything up. When you do that, law abiding tenants are suffering for what they did not do. I'm going to end with the fact that I love my apartment. I think they are spacious and beautiful. However, the facility, leaves a lot to be desired!!
