Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative alternative payment model for primary care which is gaining favor with patients, physicians, employers, payers, and policymakers across the country. Traditional insurance-based medical care is based on a fee-for-service (FFS) model which inherently rewards volume over value. The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model replaces the FFS model with a simple monthly "membership" fee that covers comprehensive primary care services. Through this model I can provide rapid access to care (same-day appointments), less time wasted in the waiting room, unhurried medical visits, and frequent discussions to assess lifestyle choices. Our ultimate goal is health and wellness, not simply the treatment of disease. Since my patients (members) choose me as their personal physician, I consider each one a partner in their own healthcare and feel that in essence, I work for each of my patients, not for the insurance company. Even if one has employer-sponsored medical insurance, I provide you additional VALUE with easy access to a compassionate, interested, and trustworthy family physician. Employers can offer my services to their staff in order to increase employee satisfaction and retention. Individuals who do not have traditional medical insurance or who face increasingly rising deductibles can save money by becoming a member of my practice.
