My husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law shopped at Designer Vastra on September 25 getting ready for our nephew's wedding in November. The four of us travelled from South Carolina to Designer Vastra in Charlotte. That day, my husband and I purchased outfits for ourselves and our son and spent approximately $650. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law spent around $400. We left satisfied and ready for the upcoming family wedding.


Unfortunately, we learned earlier this month that the couple had broken their engagement. No wedding and no need for Indian attire. My husband called Designer Vastra and spoke with Sohil Aranya, the owner, and the person we had worked with on the outfits. He said no refunds under any circumstances. I found this unacceptable, so I called Designer Vastra and spoke with Sohil's wife. She too said no refunds, and told me that what we had spent on the clothing was on the low end and suggested we try to sell it online.
This type of policy, under these circumstances, seems harsh and shows no regard for the customer or our investment.

Other members of our large family purchased Indian attire from other places and returned it with no issues. We made a special trip to Charlotte to shop at Designer Vastra and now we are stuck with clothing that we will never wear. Designer Vastra could have accepted our returns and sold the items.

I am so disappointed in this poor service, and felt important to warn others about this return policy. We never suspected that this wedding would be cancelled, but it was. I would highly recommend that you shop elsewhere where the return policy, should you need to exercise it, isn't so unreasonable.
