Accent called and set a prompt service call and came to the home and made the repair for a fair price. Very professional and would recommend them to anyone for service

One star is too many, but Facebook makes you list at least 1! My kitchen sink was leaking and dripping down into the basement, and the first appointment Accent Comfort Services could provide was 72hours after the leak started. This appointment was for 3-5pm, confirmed the day before via phone; however, the plumber never showed up. I called the office 10minutes before the window closed, and the office manger confirmed that the plumber was on his way. At 5:30pm, I called the office, which was closed, and the answering service representative said that nothing could be done until the next morning. After asking for a manager, they dispatched a plumber who came around 7pm (difficult time for a service call, especially when we have an 8month old child). The plumber said that he was sent to our house on an emergency call because the original plumber's car broke down; however, no one from Accent Comfort Services bothered to call and inform us of this, nor did they tell me when I called that day to confirm the appointment. The plumber then said that he did not have the right parts and would have to order them if the leak persisted. He then tightened a screw on the hose, recommended we get a fan to dry the damaged kitchen cabinets, and left the house. The next morning, we found water leaking again. I called Accent Comfort Systems for an appointment, left a message, but received no call-back. I called again that evening and left a message with the answering service. When Accent Comfort Systems finally called back the next morning, a Saturday, the next available appointment was Tuesday (over 1 week from when the water started leaking) and recommended that I "shut off the water in the kitchen." I asked for a manager, who was extremely rude when she came on the phone, but said she would "try to inconvenience other customers to squeeze my appointment in for Monday." I decided to go with another plumber as Accent Comfort Systems has now allowed water to leak in my kitchen and basement for ONE WEEK. I called the answering service on Saturday to cancel the appointment. A manager called me back on Monday to question why I canceled the appointment. After explaining that I was extremely unsatisfied with the service, especially the lack of timely appointment, the manager stated "I service over 1000 calls a year, I'm sorry if you feel that this one fell through, but the leak was fixed when we came to the appointment." When explaining that the leak was present the next morning and still on-going, so obviously it was not fixed, he became extremely rude and blamed me for canceling the appointment.

If you need a plumber who is cordial, customer friendly, and willing to do their job in a timely/emergent manner, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Accent Comfort Services.

I bought 2 A/C units and had my heating system replaced as well. Accent was helpful at first, but that quickly declined during the two month saga of installing my heating and cooling system. They required 8 trips to my house which made me use 7 days vacation.

Day 1. Installed some of the system, but couldn't finish because they brought the wrong units.

Day 2. Finished 75% of the work. A/C units working. Roofer not available to install heating

Day 3. A/C unit no longer working, technician sent to find root cause.

Day 4. Fix problem with A/C. Again roofer cancels

Day 5. System Completed.

Day 6. Inspector scheduled for visit - NO SHOW

Day 7. Inspector shows up, states the gas was never turned on.

Trip 8 (after work). Technician turns gas on and tests the systems. System Complete...for now.

I would recommend holding the payments until the system is fully inspected and functioning properly. Also make sure you have a plethora of vacation days since they only come during weekdays. If you factor in the 7 days i needed to stay home (@30/hour) that is an additional $1680 spent.

CROOKED COMPANY BEWARE!!! Been out numerous times and problem never fixed and now has totally ruined our floors causing mold from them not fixing the leak.

The owner Frank hides behind his techs who lie- I caught them on audio and have witnesses to prove the lies..

Do a search on this company and you will see how bad they are-- BEWARE- Keep an eye out for a News Story on this company.. We offered the owner several times to come out and look for himself but he wont..

Bunch of Crooks- Clueless Employees and an owner who cares about getting his money and screwing over the customer!!!

We have been extremely pleased...

We have been extremely pleased with the service from Accent Heating & Cooling. The company owner (Dan) is very conscientious and our technician was great! There are a lot of moving parts to an HVAC system, especially one that is aging. I like that fact that there is no upsale; of parts or warranties, just plain good old fashioned quality service. HIGHLY recommend! Great company, great investment by owner in achieving excellence in service and outstanding service!

Horrible experience. My tech w...

***First of all PLEASE look at the negative posts and the response they received from I'm guessing the owner or someone who works there. He offers no apologies, just insists that something must be wrong with the customer because his precious company can do no wrong. I guess he assumes that everyone who has had an issue with Accent is just stupid or difficult to get along with. Thanks for proving how wonderful your customer service is****

Horrible experience. My tech was so rude and sarcastic. My husband was not there when he showed up and he managed to make me feel uncomfortable in my own home. He treated me like I was the stupidest person in the world because I didn't know the ins and outs of a water heater. What a joke, I guess by making others feel dumb that's how he feels good about himself. He treated me very poorly and I was so happy when he left.

And, we had to go with this company because of our home warranty--they are crooks. Our home warranty covered us getting a new water heater but in order for that company to install it they were going to charge us $660 to bring our house up to their code--most of the stuff we already had. So we decided to take the cash out option and went with someone else and paid $350 for the water heater and installation. The $660 they were going to charge us DIDN'T even include the water heater itself. We ended up going with (Westport Plumbing--highly recommend them). Evidently Accent is know for jacking up prices on customers. My husband looked up a bunch of the stuff they were going to charge us for and compared prices, and most of their prices were double what we could get them for a Lowes or Home Depot (for the SAME thing). Ugh, I just can't say enough bad stuff about this company.

Bad customer service. Bad prices. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else!

This is the worst customer ser...

This is the worst customer service i have ever delt with in my life. I didn't realize that it was OK to hang up on customers?? who does that? Our A/C unit went out in our new house and we have a home warranty and my husband knew what the problem was and told the "reps" about what part to bring. So after three days of no air in the middle of august with a 10 month old baby at home they show up......with NO PART! They say that they wont even receive the part until the next week. We were so fed up we actually payed someone else to do it more money because oh guess what they got the part the same day......how that makes sense i will never know.

Pathetic is not even the word i would describe the company. It is disgraceful to get away with treating people in emergency situations they way they do. I'm just glad an honest person came and did the work when they were so supposed to and understood that we had a baby and it needed to be taken care of asap. OH and they took our $60.00 "service fee" i guess the guy got payed 60$ for driving to our house.....must be nice to get payed to do nothing right?

There are a few comments here that need explaining. Our customer service personel are committed to providing the best service possible when answering the phone. However they are instructed to end all calls, when the customer becomes verbally abusive and will not stop when advised. Under the terms of the agreement with their warranty company we are to respond within 48 hours of being notified of a service call. We responded during the agreed upon time frame. The warranty company did not advise us of a emergency at this home. My guess is they did not agree to an emergency status with the weather in the low 80's for the high, even though it was August. In order to receive a motor from the manufacturer under a warranty claim, such as in this case, it must be confirmed by a qualified technician. Once we determined the motor was defective we ordered it through the manufacturer.I can only assume the technician that was able to replace the motor the next day did not use an original manufacturers (OEM) motor and that is the reason they paid aditional, as he purchased an after market replacement. After receiving an e-mail from the Mr. of this home,Accent has sent back the $60 co-pay we received. Accent did not complete the repairs and we felt under the cirumstances it was the right thing to do.

Do yourself a favor & try anot...

Do yourself a favor & try another place. Communication & customer service is non-existent. It literally took 15 days to repair an AC Unit. If they don't cancel an appoint 30 minutes prior to scheduled arrival, you could expect them just not to show at all or be a couple of hours late.

The assessment of the problem is vague & when you ask questions no one can explain OR there are differing explanations amongst the techs, office people, and the operations manager.

The kicker is that once that parts arrived one tech said we didn't need the pan ordered. In fact he said there wasn't even a place to put a pan. The other tech says we didn't need the coil they ordered. What a mess! Don't ever bother calling this company!

Homeowner

They scheduled the call for my AC system in the middle of the heat wave this summer. Came out and kept the appointment time and were professional and courteous.

Quoted the repair and installed the capacitor to get my system back up and running. They did what they said they would and didn't overcharge. Good company and will use them again if any problems come up.

STAY AWAY...BAD BAD BAD

Unfortunately, if this site allowed me the option I would not even give them 1 star. I agree with the last post. It took them 5 days to come out after my essential call. Once out they immediately informed me that it there would be a $75 charge to do a maintenance cleaning, of course which was not cover under my insurance that I had to cover problems with my appliances in my home. That consisted of using a hose to wash down my unit. The repair man added Freon and stated it should be good to go. By the way during his inspection he told me my damper was not working properly in my attic that the motor had fried. Of course that was not covered either and I was quoted a price of $695 to fix. If you Google a two zone damper-the entire system you can purchase one for $375. Yes, the entire system!!! And they quoted $695 for just the motor. 4 days later the AC begins to blow out hot air again and I placed a call on Monday and they did not come out until that Friday. 5 DAYS LATER. Once they came again the repair man stated that the condenser coil had a huge leak and would need to be replaced. That was covered under my insurance plan, however the 4 other items that they stated that I needed to replace was going to be $580 out of pocket. And of course none of this could be repaired on Friday because it would be a 3 hour job and he had too many calls booked after me. Well fortunately for me I know someone who is a certified HVAC repairmen and I had him do an inspection of my unit. Are you ready for this one!! The damper system did not need to be replaced, it was unhooked, the condenser coil did not have a huge leak in it, the condensate drain pain did not need to be replaced, the drain did not need to be replaced and the float switch they wanted to replace. Guess what? I did not even have a float switch to begin with. My friend also stated that the leak from was so small he could not even find it, he did a proper cleaning of the system, added some Freon, and well it’s perfectly. Better then it worked before. His bill $165. Now I am a reasonable person you make 1 mistake fine, but FIVE. Their customer service is TERRIBLE, they don’t care about YOU, and they will take advantage of YOU! Because guess what it’s hot outside and all the other companies are booked so you have no choice but to bend over and take it. Well this one you want take advantage of and I will make sure I tell everyone I know and that’s a lot of people. SHAME ON YOU!!

Dear Zolo1902, Many of the comments you have made are inaccurate and misleading. You have a contract with a warranty company. As a service provider to the warranty company we are only allowed to provide the services and fees you have agreed to with them. Firstly, if your coils were dirty you could have been denied coverage as you are not keeping up with the contract which states you have to properly maintain the equipment and keep it clean. Which we discounted the price to do so for you. In terms of zone controls and systems they are not covered by warranty companies. Therefore, we quoted a repair price to change out the damper and the motor which matches it. Obviously you don't understand how a business is run and the cost of insurance, training, vehicles, customer service personnel etc. We or no company can work for cost on items listed on the internet. That assumes it was the correct part to match and perform as your system was designed. I have yet to go to a resturant and after the meal is served complain the omelette which costs $8.50 when I could buy the eggs for .30 a piece. If it was simple you could have done it yourself. In terms of your coil replacement and the cost of it, your friend is obviously a NATE certified mechanic and well aware of the State Code and requirements to perform a proper installation. Your contract with your warranty company told us what the items not covered by the contract were and you were responsible to pay for them. The warranty company does not pay for all of the repairs and improvements necessary for a good mechanical installation and code deficiencies. Therefore, the price for the coil out of pocket costs were about 1/3 the cost of a retail coil. Again, this was to your benefit and the warranty company's choice. You didn't understand your contract with them. The condensate drain pan would need to be replaced because the Evaporator coil is larger in physical size than the older designs which were less efficent. The drain pan must extend beyond the edges of the new coil so as to meet code. That is why it was quoted to you. Also the reason you need a float switch is to prevent water from overflowing the drain pan which would have been to small to begin with and would cause water damage to your ceiling and property. No, you didn't have one but if we installed the new coil we would not have done the job with out one to protect you and conform to good mechanical installation practices. Your friend charged you 95.00 more than we quoted to clean the unit by the way. Also, the leak was detected by an electronic leak detection device "sniffer" which is much more accurate than a visual or soap bubble test. Sorry you had such a bad experience but we felt we needed to set the record straight.
