After watching the seizure of animals of late and then learning that the humane officers aren't even legal and can't serve warrants I'm appalled that the executive director can keep,her job. The humane officers haven't been legal since she took over. Everyone that has had animals seized should file for legal recourse. Then yesterday watching a post from the director Jessie Shaffer talking about her upcoming paid trip to San Diego and wanting people's input on what to do for fun just made me sick knowing they use shelter money animal money to go travel and have a good time while illegally taking people's animals.

Kanawha county shelter suck. Over three months I travel up there three times and call nine times and I got rub off like I was a kid. If they keep this up I think they should shut down or restaff because they get pay to help you and they didn't put her on their website.

they are scamming people out of money for vouchers . Purchased for 30.00 .....their voucher says " no additional treatments or vaccines included " does NOT SAY the state requires mandatory before surgery of a rabies vaccination and pain med which is about an additional 50.00 JUST FOR A CAT... and when asked for a refund on the 30.00 voucher, they said sorry no refunds, IT IS A SCAM IF YOU DONT GET SERVICE RENDERED AND CANT GET A REFUND PERIOD, I tried the very next day for it and they denied me and blew me off for half hour on phone

The employees are friendly and the volunteers go above and beyond expectation to help find a home for the fur babies

These people are fine in most of their practices, however; they adopt coyote puppies as pets-even though coyotes are proven to have attacked and killed human beings unprovoked. Just remember: Frankenstein, Godzilla, and Rodan were cute as little babies; too.
