I must say I really like this salon. I have been to other salons in the area without finding a place that felt comfortable to me, I believe I have found the perfect place now. I was greeted and offered a beverage. My stylist was very professional and timely. I love my new style and look forward to future visits......Well I have been coming to Charmaine's for almost 2 years now and I love it .Bonnie Davenport has been my very favorite stylist,I always get exactly what I want and get tons of compliments wherever I go, I would HIGHLY recommend her!

Hi Christel, I am writing this...

--I also added a few pics of (per the stylist) what she intended for my hair to look like after 6-8 washes. No thank you!

Hi Christel, I am writing this email so you will be aware of what happened at my last appointment. I no way intend to trouble the hairstylist, but if I were an owner, I would want constructive feedback on a bad experience so I thought I would share. I had my hair colored/cut in November with Sarah. I normally see Jennifer, but could not get an appointment with her in time (I am a last minute scheduler) so thought I would try someone else to get it done in time for Thanksgiving holidays. I came in to see Sarah and just wanted color, but no cut. After she informed me that it is a package deal for cut & color, and I would be paying for the cut regardless, I said I would get one since I'm paying for it anyways. I am still a little baffled by this since most salons separate the costs between cut and color, but Sarah informed me that Charmaigne's offers a package deal, and I have heard of a free cut being included with color. So, I guess the deal is any color & cut for $155ish and I tipped Sarah $30ish. (Not sure on the exact numbers, but right around there. I always try to tip 20% because my best friend is a stylist and I know every bit helps. ) The color looked good when she was done, but there were two major problems:1.Roots were not covered: I still had quarter inch roots when I left. I didn't say anything to her then as I had a meeting that night and a packed schedule for the next 2 weeks with no breaks in the day or evening with school and 3 jobs, plus I hate being critical after someone just spent 3 hours doing my hair and figured if it really bothered me I could call later. I realize now I should have said something then. I have been coloring my hair for 15 years and only had this happen one other time. When it happened before, I called the salon back and they immediately brought me in for a touch up at no charge. When I left the message with your salon, they said it had been 5 weeks which is why I had "new growth" and I was welcome to make an appointment to get a touch up done. I explained last night on the voicemail that I meant what I said when I left with quarter inch roots. I did not have "new growth", the roots were not done the first time. Also, I had my hair done on November 20th, and I called about it last week. It has been 3 weeks since my appointment, not 5 weeks. Additionally, I had my hair colored darker so the roots would not show as much. I now have 1" roots that are showing along with my old color because a semi-permanent dye was used. 2. Semi-permanent dye: Sarah also said in her voicemail that she use semi-permanent dye that would wash out in 6-8 washes because my hair was fragile and I was welcome to make an appointment for a deep treatment. As I stated before, I have been coloring my hair for 15 years. Whenever a stylist has used semi-permanent dye on my hair because of current damage, they have told me in advance so that I have the option to choose between permanent and semi-permanent dyes. Also, the cost is ALWAYS reduced with a semi-permanent dye. I checked with a few ladies at work today, and some local friends as well, and they said their salons always reduce the charge with a semi-permanent dye. When I came before to see Jennifer, the total was right around $140ish for permanent dye. I was charged more for a semi-permanent dye than I was for a permanent dye. $155ish for a color/cut that washes out in 1-2 weeks is VERY overpriced. My previous stylist in a posh salon in midtown Atlanta does not charge that much for that type of appointment. I feel that the total for this appointment should have been around $80 including the haircut. Regardless, I am now stuck with a hair color that is exactly what it was on November 20th and out $185 with the option (per your salon) to pay another $185 to get it done again.

i.eVery dissapointed in the owner. I have been a loyal client for over a year, bought a Living Social deal without realizing it was for first time clients only. I made my regular appointment and recieved a call back from the owner stating she noticed I had bought one of the Living Social deals and she just wanted to make sure I knew I could not use it. When I explained to her I did not realize it was for new customers only and my credit card had already been billed she said I would have to give it as a gift or try and get my money back from Living Social because the deal was meant to try and get new business. I guess she is not interested in keeping loyal customers :( FINDING A NEW SALON WITH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. Cindi Liked: Disliked: ., A local favorite, or highly recommended because

I love this salon. Farrah is my stylist and she does a great job. I never know what I want and she always takes time with me to make sure I'm satisfied with my new style. Everyone is great and ready to help you with whatever you want. They are always smiling, which is very different from most places you go to now. Everyone actually seems happy to be working there. So refreshing!!!!
