I needed a plumber to do a small job in a basement I'm finishing. I needed a drain and water lines run for a wet bar and another water line for an ice maker hook up. I opened up the yellow pages and called Urgent Rooter and was connected with Drains R Us. I wasn't too concerned with the new name, and set up an appointment to get an estimate. I was given a 9:00am-11:00am window and was told that if I wanted the work done after the estimate, I could have that done the same day. On the day of my appointment, I waited until 11:30am with no plumber and no phone call. I called and was told that he would be at my home as soon as he finished the job he was working on. He showed up at 4:00pm. I asked if he would have time to do the work or not, and was told that he hadn't planned on even providing the estimate, but would send it to me the next day. I then complained about having waited all day and he told me that he could do the estimate, but that I needed to understand that his regular customers take priority. I let him go ahead and do the estimate since he was there. I was shocked that he quoted me $785 to install the drain and another $950 to run the water lines. I asked how much of that was labor? He said it was about $200 in parts and the rest was labor. I asked how many hours he was bidding and he told me he bids a flat rate to do the job and does not bill by the hour. At over $1500 in labor cost, even if it took him a full day that is nearly $200/hour! To his credit, he did give me ideas on how to do the work myself. I decided to give it a try and purchased all the materials for $152 (retail) and the job took me (a novice) a total of one hour to complete. You be the judge, but for my money there are lots of better choices out there.

Have use them to fix a frost free hydrant, replace an blown fitting on our well pressure tank, and install a new bathroom in our home. Perfect work at a great price. They are the only plumbers we will ever call.Greg and Rita, Elizabeth

This company was a life saver!!!!!!! The technician that came out to my house was very friendly, and explained things to me in a way that I would understand, especially since I know nothing about plumbing. They made sure their equipment didn't harm any of my belongings, and they were very good at making sure my problem was completely fixed before they left. They didn't try and tell me that I needed any unecessary work done, they just fixed what they were asked to. I would recommend this comany to everyone I know!
