I have been going to Edgewood Animal Hospital for a number of years and have always had excellent service. Recently my 2 year old lab, Chica, was having trouble with pain in her back leg. Dr Taylor said that Chica would need to lose some weight before the necessary ACL surgery could be performed; but Chica got worse and Dr Taylor referred us to Dr Bruce as he is the one who actually performs the ACL surgery. Dr Bruce was very nice and could see how much pain Chica was in. He scheduled her right away for the surgery. When I brought her back for her first post-op check Dr Bruce and the staff could hardly believe the difference; Chica was walking on her leg already and hardly limping! Everyone at Edgewood Animal Hospital is always pleasant and helpful. When I was having problems getting Chica to take some of the meds she needed after her surgery the front desk staff suggested I try the Pill Pockets and they were just the thing. Now Chica takes her meds without any problem.

I switched to Edgewood about a year ago when I wanted a second opinion about my older dog's torn ACL. Though I'd been with my previous vet for many years and was always happy with him, I found the staff at Edgewood had much better "bedside manners" with my dogs. My previous vet, while professional, did not interact with them at all. I love Dr. Jonelle Hankner; she literally gets down on the floor to love up both dogs when they come in. My dog Chloe had her 1st ACL surgery, performed by Dr. Bruce Ennen, in December 2010; it was a great success, and despite her age, her recovery was speedy. Sadly, she tore her 2nd ACL in June this year. Dr. Bruce performed his miracle surgery on her again in August, and I just simply couldn't be happier with the results and with her recovery. He did an awesome job both times, Chloe loves him, and he always gives treats. Double score: Edgewood gives our rescue group a discount for all services on our rescued dogs; sweet. I highly recommend this clinic.

I have been taking my pets to Edgewood Animal Hospital for years. The service and care they provide for my pets is top notch. The entire staff is always very professional and helpful. I have and older pet with some health issues and am there quite often as I worry about her. Dr. Hankner never makes me feel like I am a bother for bringing her in so often. Dr. Hankner treats all of my pets like they are her own. She spends plenty of time making sure they are comfortable before examining them or drawing blood. She is very thorough in explaining things and takes time to answer any questions I have. I would highly recommend Dr. Hankner. The vet techs and office staff are also great. They always provide excellent service.

We had been taking Shadow to Edgewood Animal Hospital since we brought her home from the Humane shelter when she was 8 weeks old. She was a bassett hound\lab mix and looked very much like a lab on very short legs.Over the 16 years we were blessed to have her, she gave us everything she had. Love, companionship and attitude if she disagreed with our command. (she would do what you ask, but had to grumble about it)When my dad fell last winter, she stayed at his side until the ambulance hauled him to the hospital.She had cushings disease, heart murmur and severe arthritis but Dr H kept her comfortable and let us keep her a little longer. When Jonelle had to tell me about the cancer, we both cried and we knew what had to be done.A vet has many great days when they save someone's life but then there are days when they have to help someone say goodbye for now. Dr Jonelle we thank you for giving our Shadow a loving dignified goodbye for now.God bless you.

My family and I used to come here years ago and weren't impressed with the service and decided to go elsewhere. Since then I have gotten a dog and a cat on my own and have decided to try Edgewood again since the management has changed. I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID! The doctors are wonderful! I normally see either Dr. Ehlers or Dr. Meaney and they are both great! The staff is nice and the environment is much improved. No longer is dark and drab, but it is now open and clean and bright. The prices are competitive and level service cannot be matched anywhere else. If you came here and before and left, I highly recommend coming back and trying them again!

We have two labs and they LOVE to go see Dr. Hankner. Our oldest was a new puppy when Dr. H was with another clinic and we didn't know where she went when she left. We tried other vets in the area and were not pleased with their attitude or the manner in which they serviced the dogs. We have gone to Edgewood Animal Hospital for about two years now and have seen great strides and much improvement in front desk staffing and service provided. I'm very impressed with their x-ray capability and surgery services. At a former vet office I was told I had to go to ISU for a full hip x-ray; not so. Edgewood met our needs and we are very happy. Edgewood animal hospital has REALLY done a turn-around under the new ownership (2008). I’ve been impressed to see the continuing changes in both interior appearance and more dramatically in SERVICE. The interior is not only more inviting with it’s open lobby and updated decorating but the entire facility has a clean feeling it previously lacked. I was truly impressed by the changes in service during a recent visit. This began with my appointment phone call with Sue B who couldn’t have been more professional and courteous, though having a very busy day. It continued at the appointment with a short wait for the technicians who again where very professional and affectionate with our less than happy dog who HATES to have her nails trimmed, followed by an efficient check out. Happy to see the improvements! – keep up the good work.

I recently brought my cat in for a check-up. I knew they would tell me about how "fat" he was but they told me delicately and in a funny manner. I appreciate all of the additional information they provided me. We talked about food and the self waters that encourage them to drink. I hadn't really considered heartworm prevention since he is an indoor cat before but I need to think about it. They whole staff made my appointment fun and informative, especially when they asked if I measured his food. Probably not......

I've had nothing but horrible experiences at Edgewood Animal Hospital. My parents currently take our cat and dog there and I continuously urge them to change vets. The doctor whom which we saw was a snippy old woman who muzzled my dog, not because she was barking, snapping, or even growling, but simply because she was a german shepherd. She terrified my dog into a corner forcing the muzzle on her and then insisted I had to leave the room because I was only making things worse. I was forced out of the room and left in the hall to cry, all for one simple vaccination. I urge people to avoid using there facility unless they have throughly spoken with a specific doctor and are sure they arent as horrific as she was.

Since the new ownership in 2008, Edgewood has consistently has continued to grow and improve. The level of care received for my pet and others is always exceeds my expectations. I look forward to being a lifetime client. The have earned my trust and respect. The hospital is appears to be equipped well and the care they provide speaks for itself. Even though my "little" girl is not so easy to handle, she treat her kindly. She attempted to nip at the doctor, but they handled it in stride. They seem welcoming and encourage me to take good care of my pets. The prices are fair for the service I received.
