I must say the last year DR Streeper was up front and really has took such great care of my dog. She started having seizures and yet gain weight because of it. Dr Steeper literally calls me and helps me with everything. She keeps my dog when I'm on business trips and I feel safe when I know she is there. Courtney and I have gained somewhat of a talking relationship and she seems to understand my concerns. I recently moved to a corporate office of a bank and I speak highly of blairsferry pet hospital. Back again Dr Sheeper..literally takes the time to make sure my little girl has her pill when she needs it. She talks with me over the phone and so excited to meet with her about Lucy's diet when I return from this work event. Thank you for being you and teaching me each and every day how to raise my king charles. I learn everyday

My dog started having spots of blood when she urinated. When I called, they said they were booked.
I called back when she started urinating whithout knowing it and shivering and hiding in a corner.
They talked to the Dr. and she told them to have me bring her in at the end of their day.
Dr. Streeper did a urin test, temp., and ultrasound.
She had a bladder infection. Gave her a antibiotic and pain pills.
Wanted to see her back to check her bladder again for stones, because she saw something on the ultrasound she wanted to recheck.
I really appreciated them staying after hours to check her.
She felt better the next day.
I would recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone that loves their pets.

We have taken our pets here for the past 12 years. Doctor Lemme is the only veterinarian we bring our animals to. Their grooming service is not the best, but I would recommend this place to anyone for veterinary care!

Not interested in emergencies

Not pleased at all. I transferred two of my cats to this pet hospital. Vet was very nice. But when my cat was having seizers this past week (which he had never had before) I was in a panic and called the office while they were still open for another 2 hours. They told me that he needs to be seen right away, but they were to busy to see him. This was an emergency and they turned me away. I rushed him to the Animal Hospital by the Eastern Iowa Airport where he was kept overnight, diagnosed and treated. Thank god I had somewhere to take them or I would have been out of luck. My cats are now being transferred to a new vet. So disgusted.

We just had a terrible experience with bringing our full grown dog in with a fractured nail.

The doctor was more comfortable talking to animals over humans - I could barely get any information from her and she seemed absolutely intimidated by me. They had me lift my 65lb dog onto the examination table myself - thank goodness I was physically able to. The doctor did not address specific questions and concerns of mine regarding antibiotics and medications. When they were doing the examinations I was solely responsible for restraining the dog - which bothers me because I am not experienced in handling animals in such an intense situation... because of all of this I was very afraid that the dog was going to flail straight off that examination table and fall 4ft+ to the tiled floor.

When we picked our pup back up we were informed that he tested positive 6 months ago for limes disease - which is interesting because we were never informed. This could have turned into something serious and when asked as to why we were not informed they totally dismissed the issue without reason.

On getting home we realized our pup was having A LOT of trouble with the dressing of the wound. They wrapped it WAY too tight with ace bandages and we had to re-wrap it ourselves. Also upon getting a second opinion the day after it turns out that they used straight gauze, without non-stick padding on the wound. When the Anamosa Vet Clinic (awesome folks) checked it out the clotting had dried directly into the gauze causing our pup some intense pain when having to remove the dressing.

As I previously mentioned, we went to Anamosa Vet Clinic the day after and I got to witness how true veterinary professionals work. It was a night and day difference... I *REALLY* wish we would have just gone there first - I feel guilty having left my pup with Blairs Ferry Pet Hospital - *VERY* guilty.

Dog Grooming is top-notch

I had tried several different places to give my puppy a haircut and good cleaning. Blairs Ferry Pet Hospital did an A++ job trimming her up and bathing her. It was a great experience from dop-off to pick-up. The best part was I was able to drop her off in the morning on my way to work, and pick her up after work, so I didnt have to rearrange my schedule to get her picked up. If your looking for a fantastic place to take care of your family pet, this is the place!
