I had a totally different experience than the previous reviewer. I am also relatively new to Cedar Falls. I am used to "big city" services and didn't know what to expect in a small town in Iowa - Jiva exceeded my expectations! Great service in scheduling, recommending a stylist for my hair type, great cut and color and excellent styling. While my color processed I was treated to a hand massage, herbal neck wrap and a nice beverage served in a pretty glass. All for a price lower than in spa/salons in Cedar Rapids. Aveda products have improved in the last few years too! I will be back!

I have tried several salons in the area, but none has made me feel as special as Jiva has. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted and offered a beverage. The stylists are all very experienced and professional - not just the usual "find a picture you want to look like." My stylist took time to talk to me about my lifestyle, hair expectations and gave me several options before she began to cut. The hand massage while my color was processing was wonderful! She also made sure that I knew how to style my hair once I was at home. While this is not a cheap in and out salon, the price is well worth it.

I had just recently moved to the area, and was excited to see an Aveda salon. I had been going to an Aveda salon for about 8 yrs in two other cities. I went in for a foil touch up and I was not impressed with their overall service (or what they call "Aveda experience") or the work (they didnt listen to my request and the blown out work was amateur). This is very unfortunate since I have been an Aveda fan for years.
