8/10/12 I have family history of malignant melenoma mom/dads side. I had a recent mole that changed on my face ..ie grew larger, changed color, irregular. Dr Countryman said he would cut half out to biopsy and cutting the whole thing out wasn't necessary. I told him i had about 25moles removed on my body and i know how i scar and if it were on my body i wouldn't mind but on my face i want the whole thing removed or nothing....as i didn't want it all chopped up looking. He didn't listen to me when i told him that i scar badly and it takes me longer to heal. He acted like i shouldn't be there even though every derm i have been to has told me to come in at the 1st sign of changes. Even Dr Hanke who is in his same office and rated the best in the state of IN removed 3 whole moles 5yrs ago. With my family history it is not rocket science what needs to be done. But Countryman would rather see me walk then put 4stitches instead of one. He failed to account for patien values/wishes/psychological affect like all other Dermatologists including Hanke. Very disappointed and a waist of my time and $$$ I drove 1.5 hrs to see him. Would have seen Hanke but my ins. didn't cover him anymore. STAY AWAY !!@!
