Avoid Art-Tech Glass At All Costs

I don’t usually post on sites such as these or write reviews. Though, I am not always satisfied with every business transaction, rarely am I compelled to complain about it, or dwell on it for an extended period of time. This case is an exception to the rule, and something I feel must be made public knowledge to prevent others from falling victim to the negligence of Art-Tech Glass.

On a drive home recently, a large rock cracked my windshield. During a visit to Auto Zone, the sales associate recommended Art-Tech Glass, and with no other leads, I decided to check them out. Luckily, they had my exact windshield in stock, and they could install it that day. The problem with windshield repair is the work itself is hidden underneath tape for 24 hours until the glues and sealants are allowed to dry. What I found after the tape was removed was appalling.

-Glue was left smeared along the edges of the windshield

-They cracked the plastic lining between the hood and my windshield.

-The rubber lining separating the glass from the truck’s frame was completely warped from their installation process.

-The glue/sealant work on the passenger side inside the truck was sloppily done.

-The truck frame around the windshield was deeply scratched from the tools used to remove the windshield.

When I called about the issues, I was treated less than courteously, but they said a new rubber windshield lining would be ordered. I was to receive a phone call after the part was ordered so an appointment could be scheduled to address the above listed issues. I never received a phone call.

I went back to Art-Tech Glass to resolve these issues in person, and was told the damage wasn’t due to their poor workmanship, but because my truck is a 2006. Essentially, they took no responsibility, and were making the problems out to be my fault. In addition, the man I was speaking to was literally yelling at me during the entire exchange, taking no responsibility, and offering nothing in the way of an apology. Let me be clear in saying that I did not go there to yell at him, and I treated him with nothing but respect during our exchange. Yet, being disrespected like this was causing me to reach a boiling point. There were a number of things I wanted to do in that moment, and some things I wished I’d done, but being arrested for assault makes this man and Art-Tech Glass the victims. Rather than bring more harm to myself, I took the high road, got into my truck, and left before I could do something foolish. Reviews like these, the Better Business Bureau, and a lawyer will be my way of yelling back. This is also meant as a clear warning to anyone taking their money to this place of business. Please heed my advice and stay far away from Art-Tech Glass.
