Dr. Lucero walked into the room and greeted us and then tried to begin examining my dog. My dog is nervous of him so she was nervous to approach him. Dr. Lucero asked for her leash and I gave it to him. Now her leash is attached to a harness that wraps around her head and snout, it prevents her from pulling when going for walks. This "vet" proceeded to pull the leash as hard as he possibly could to get my dog to come up to him, subsequently pulling her body by her head. This went on for about 30 seconds... She whimpered because she was in pain. I told this man to get off of her and let go of her leash. He let go and said he could not treat her if she would not go near him. I told him pulling her by her head is no way to get a dog to come near you. I turned my dog around and asked him to examine her (she has anal gland issues) He then immediately said she was in heat and left the room. The next day I went to another vet and my dog had immediate surgery to remove her anal glands

I had an emergency last Sunday with my senior dog Cody - he got a cut on his leg. My regular vet was closed. I went to see Dr. Fret Lucero at Value Vet. He calmed me down and assured me that my dog would be fine. The staff was friendly and so efficient. I was sure that I would not be able to afford the services. I could not believe the low cost for a local, stitches, a victorian collar and medication. It's two days later and Cody is doing great! So glad the New Year will be off to a great start!
