I went in with a defuct Fluval 404 I bought on craigslist. The owner, Mike, helped me scrounge for spare parts and even took a part off a new Fluval 406 to help me get my filter running. He set it up on a tank in the store to make sure it worked and show me a trick to get the siphon started (suck air into the bottom of the intake while the output is under water, it works great!). He could have just told me I needed a new filter but he took the time to help me out for a few dollars in spare parts. I'll definitely be back for any of my future needs.

I recently went in to purchase Aquatic Plants, which they have a very good selection of. I was assisted by Pita, who was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpfull. She also went the extra mile and quickly found out about, and followed up on a special order lighting system i inquired about.

I LOVE Aquarium City! My boyfriend and I just set up our 30 gallon freshwater tank thanks to the staff here answering our numerous questions. The customer service here is OUTSTANDING. There's one guy (I wish I could remember his name!) that was very patient with us, walked around the store describing all of our fish options and which will get along together. He was so knowledgeable but what struck me the most was how he really took care of us and didn't seem to mind that we had so many questions. This for me, is the main reason you come to a place like Aquarium City over the chain stores.

Everyone here has been absolutely amazing and very informative. All the fish I have purchased from here have thrived (including the wonderful longfin bristle-nosed pleco Josh promptly ordered for me)! I live about 26 miles from the store (but in 101 traffic... well, you get the idea) but every time it has been well worth the drive time in traffic. Being relatively new to the aquarium hobbyist world i had a lot of questions. All of the staff have been willing to patiently answer my questions. I have learned a great deal from the staff. Further, when elevated nitrate levels and ich threatened the health of my tank, a patient staff member talked me down over the phone and gave me the answers and directions that helped to save my tank! i now have a healthy, thriving 55 gallon tank that's been up and running very well for over a year... (and I'm getting ready to start another!) great store! great staff! thanks to everyone there!

My brother and I have been aquarium hobbiests our entire existence.. Been to many aquarium and reptile stores all over from Ventura county to the other end of LA.. The Aquarium City is by far the best place to go. We've been going there for years now. Their longevity proves they are just the best. Any negative comment you read about this place is simply bogus from people who can't keep their fish alive. They are always busy and wanting to help you or even just answer questions you have. Every employee there knows what they're talking about. They are pros! They are the best of the best.

Extremely knowledgeable employees. I have 3 Convict Cichlid at home, barely matured. In the past I've had territory problems with them, so my old algae eater got harassed until he or she died. I was informed at Aquarium City, that was due to my Cichild had laid its eggs. Now that is all over, and the algae eater is larger than the 3 Convicts I have left, it was fine to try and put him in the tank. If it doesn't work out, I'll come back for the Chinese Algae eater. I also picked up some algae tablets. Coming here really made me want to come back. Also, they have tropical water crabs, and salt water sea horses! I want one of both so bad!

I come to Aquarium City several times every week. The employees are always so helpful to me, they know which tanks I have and which fish will live best in each tank. They price match Internet prices so you can feel at ease buying there. They get new fish on Wednesdays so they're is a good selection for the weekends. The selection on hand is usually pretty diverse

I came to this store because I had been treated so badly by Rainbow Aquarium in Arleta. One of the owners, I don't remember his name...he's a tall blonde guy... helped us out for quite some time! He answered every question we had so thoroughly that I left with a much better understanding of everything good no on in my tank! Because of his help, my tank turned around within 24 hours! I had such high ammonia levels and my tank was incredibly dirty looking for no reason! Within less than a day my water is crystal clear and the ammonia has dropped! He was so knowledge and helpful that I will forever return to this store for all to fishy needs!

This is a great store-they have friendly people and great aquariums, everything you could ever need or want with decent prices. I've never seen a place like it, and wouldn't go anywhere else.

A Trusted Fish Store

I bought a new wall-mounted Fish Tank from Costco,

Northridge (A Road Show) about two weeks ago and enjoy

the beautiful Artquarium Large Panoramic Wall-mounted

Aquarium at my study room with my family except a noise

coming from two filters coming with the fish tank. I

decided to search a good and quiet filter at yahoo.com

(Aquarium, Reseda) and found a 5-star aquarium store

immediately. I went there to buy one and talked to Mike,

who is very helpful and knowledgeable. He advised me to

pull the filter bag out from the filter, then, submerge

the Fluval Plus 2 filter into my new tank to test whether

the noise still arise or not. If I still find the noise,

I can return the product and he will make some other

recommendation. As expected, Fluval Plus 2 filter produce

no noise at all when the room is very quite. I am going

to buy second one from Mike soon.
