I took my dog who had been ill (throwing up) into the clinic on 4/25/18, Dr. Frasure came into the room. I told her he was vomiting and was not sure why. She said she could do his anal glands, I said no I just want to know why he is throwing up,& I don't want anything else done. She gave fluids for dehydration. While getting fluids, he threw up again, this time brown/red in color. She asked what color foods I was giving him, I said only white rice, chicken & clear Pedialyte. We both decided to do labs & xray. Needless to say xray showed something in his stomach & he needed emergency surgery I took him to OSU. She was insistent that I check out at the front.I walked my dog out of the room 3 dogs were in the lobby waiting to be checked in/out.Since my dog just threw up on my shoe, I told the receptionist I could just come by in AM &pay the bill she said ok. I arrived to the hospital, was checking my dog in for him to have emergency surgery, & within 30 minutes of my arrival Dr. Frasure called & said, "I tried to talk to the Dr, but they are busy, BUT SINCE I HAVE YOU ON THE PHONE HOW ABOUT YOU JUST PAY YOUR BILL. " I said what, the receptionist said I could come by in the AM and pay this? She replied, "WELL I HAVE YOU ON THE PHONE NOW, YOU CAN WALK OUTSIDE AND GIVE ME YOUR CARD INFO IF YOU NEED, BUT YOU WOULD BE CHARGED 8.00 ON TOP OF THE BILL IF YOU DO NOT PAY." I said are you serious? She stated, "WELL WE DO NOT BILL, SO YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND GIVE ME YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER SO YOU CAN PAY YOUR BILL". Obviously, I was not thinking clearly or i would have just hung up on her, and dealt with it the following morning, but I paid the 187.00 bill. I will never go back there, and learned that she does not care about your pet, but about the bottom line of getting paid. We have been going there for 3 years and have never not paid the bill. She is repulsive and a worthless person to be so distasteful to someone who was facing such an emergency with their fur baby.

When your pups nearly drag you into the clinic, you know it's one you should NEVER leave! Years ago, I had to do the dragging, but regret that I didn't find a good and caring vet then. I've been seeing Dr. Greenwald for more than 15 years and wouldn't think of going elsewhere. The knowledge is something you may find many places, but the genuine care and standards are very seldom found. I work in Westerville and reside in German Village and certainly I could find a vet nearer, but I love my pets too much to lower the standard of care they receive.

Best vet in central Ohio has to be Dr. Greenwald at Canal Animal Clinic!!! The care is exceptional and the front desk staff are superb so knowledgeable and answer any and all questions!!! Saved my dog Bandit's tail when he nearly got it bit off by coyote's! Been using her since before she had a practice of her own. Previously saved my dog Fanny's leg who got hit by a car I thought she would lose it but thanks to her it was saved and even grew the hair back!! I just wish she still did some large animal so she could do my horses shots. Best vets ever!!!!

Canal Animal Clinic is wonderf...

Canal Animal Clinic is wonderful. The interior of the building is spotless and has minimal animal odor. I have been taking my animal there for almost 2 years, I wouldn't dream of taking her anywhere else. The vet staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the hours of operation are easy to work into anyones schedule. I would definitly recommend taking your animals to Canal Animal Clinic.
