Canaan Elementary School offers learning and academic opportunities to more than 200 students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. The school provides instruction in art, physical education, music, math and reading. It manages a library that offers access to a variety of books. Canaan Elementary School also provides health care and food services. The school manages The Responsive Classroom, 2nd Step, and gifted and talented programs. It operates a parent-teacher fellowship that conducts meetings, as well as features a playground. In addition, the school publishes a newsletter. Canaan Elementary School is a part of Regional School District 54, which manages middle and high schools.
