These people were horrible, and just wanted more money from me. My engine light came on, and my regular mechanic told me it was a catalytic converter code and I should probably get it replaced. This is quite common with old subarus. I took the car to GarageOne and told them about the code and said it was probably the catalytic converter needed replacing. They said it would be 100 dollars so I said ok, and paid them. The following weekend the light came on again, but I was at my original mechanics for an oil change, and she reset it for me and said sometimes the engine light just needs to be reset. 2 weeks later now the light comes on again, so I take it back to GarageOne and ask them to take a look at it, and they say that they will only look at their work if I give them 120 dollars for a "diagnostics check". What? I asked them to just check their work, and they said that they would, but only if I gave them 120 dollars. What, again? I'm having a hard time swallowing that someone can charge so much money and not back it up without trying to extort additional money from a customer. Now I am stuck. They charged me 1000 dollars and I am having the same check engine light as before, and now they are trying to get more money from me. I feel like I am being ripped off by them. I am now truly hosed by them. Professionalism means you back up your work. You don't charge more money to a customer just because you think you can get away with it. That is shady, and just plain wrong. Don't go to them. They will have their hands in your pockets before you know it.
