Knott s Berry Farm, which was acquired by Cedar Fair in late 1997, first opened as a tearoom and berry market in 1920. Comprised of six themed areas covering more than 160 acres, the park offers its guests a mix of rides, live shows, children s activities and special attractions. Cedar Fair is a publicly traded limited partnership that owns and operates seven amusement parks and five water parks. The company s seven amusement parks are Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio; Knott s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif.; Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township, Pa.; Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom near Cleveland; Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minn.; Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.; and Michigan s Adventure near Muskegon, Mich. Cedar Fair also owns and operates the Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort in Sandusky, Ohio.
