The folks who live at RH are friendly, kind and considerate. The office works with you to solve any issues that you may have. The maintenance staff and security personnel are excellent and competent beyond anything that I have ever seen in condo living. Also, the pool and barbecue areas are beautiful and user-friendly. All in all, RH is a safe and beautiful environment with nice people around 24 hours.

I've lived here 6 months and have already paid $335 in fines. I locked myself out of my apartment when I first moved in ..... $125. Then today in 2 degree weather they towed my car. Had to call a cab to get to the towing place. Pay for that plus tip then $210 to the towing company plus tip. Lost my debit card when I was at the bank pulling money out to pay the towing company. The security guards were so nice when I first moved here. The current guards are like the gestapo.....cold, unfeeling. There still is one guard who is awesome.
Feels like a jail here.

As a current resident (renter), I can tell you that in all but one respect Radnor House is wonderful. The location is ideal - convenient to several universities and companies, area highways and two SEPTA rail lines. The maintenance and security staff do an excellent job. The building and grounds are well-kept, the gardening is meticulous and they work 24/7 to keep paths and the lot free of snow and ice in winter. There is a very nice pool open during the summer, and a patio with BBQ grills behind the building. Parking is plentiful.

However, the management office is staffed by petty tyrants who have imposed a set of rules and regulations more applicable to a halfway house or a dormitory for problem students than a residential community for adults and families. They are unresponsive and condescending micromanagers. And it is truly a shame because it takes so much away from the otherwise great qualities of this community.

To the extent that other reviews have complained about the security guards and other employees, that is only because they are being required to fulfill the edicts of Management, lest they lose their jobs. It's clear that they're doing the best they can under the circumstances.

In short, this is a wonderful place to live, but I would not recommend investing in this residence unless and until there is a change in the management regime.

Moving in? You MUST use our back elevator (which is fine) but you have to reserve it in advance (it's always full up so you can't actually move in when your lease starts) oh and here's a $50 reservation fee we didn't tell you about. Hopefully this will be the last time you have to interact with the management because it's always gonna be like that.

This is a great place to live, as long as you don't have to deal with the management office which is run by tyrants who treat you like your problems are petty and not important. Also, the constant interruptions of utilities is somewhat annoying, but at least they give you ample warning of when they occur. What annoys me the most is the constant barrage of flyers left on my door reminding me of all the rules and regulations and power outages, etc. There is one unit on my floor that has been vacant for several months, and they just keep piling on the flyers, rather than use common sense and deduce that no one is living there! Makes me glad that I'm just a renter and not an owner.

The way management treats its ...

The way management treats its tenants and visitors is unconscionable. When I first moved to the area to attend grad school I considered living here because it seemed to be a popular choice among students. After talking with a few tenants I changed my mind because they all vehemently encouraged me to avoid this place like the plague due to bad experiences with the management office.

Although I settled on a different apartment complex, I had several friends live here and frequented the place quite a bit. Once, I came during management hours and literally had Tina, the office manager, yell at me because I used the intercom to ask permission to enter the building (there's a sign outside the entrance expressly stating visitors are to use the intercom). I politely pointed that out and she wordlessly turned around and walked away from me. I can't fathom how this rude woman has managed to keep her job.

My friends have routinely been subjected to multiple $300 fines for alleged (and in many instances bogus) noise complaints which, due to management rules, are extremely difficult to dispute. Since these are individually owned condos, Radnor management mandates that all complaints come through the actual owner - they refuse to deal with tenants directly. This creates a frustrating amount of red tape which is a nightmare to navigate.

The previous reviewer was also correct - security policies are outrageous. I understand the need to make tenants feel secure but come on, there's a Ferrari/Maserati dealership a block away. There is no need to make visitors feel like criminals just for trying to visit friends and family (I do give the one star to a few standout security guards there who awesome).

Essentially, if you're a younger person (mid twenties to thirties) and especially a student who enjoys having a social life, DO NOT move here. You will be miserable.

I have seen this building...in fact, a friend of mine was looking at a condo for sale here. I was not at all impressed with the security. Basically, I am from Los Angeles, and the security was way, way, way over the top. This is, after all, Radnor- its not South Philly, or South LA--

The other thing I did not like about this location was everything I have seen is badly outdated for the price they are asking. Simply, every unit I have seen looks like 1970's maybe mid 80's design- its way over priced for that look. In the unit we looked at to buy, it was a small 1 bedroom and the price was to much for what it was. The bathroom needed gutted totally and the walls were some odd Pink/tan color-I banged my head on the low handing light fixture in the dining room or what they call a dining area. In the photos of these units you sent me, I was not at all overwhelmed. Nothing attracts me to his building or anything I have seen in it. Radnor is not West Hollywood, Santa Monica, or San Diego- Its not Malibu or Manhatten Beach,,,if you had this down in AC ok maybe. I also interacted with some of the home owners and even the listing agent who showed my friend the unit. In one case it was said, "a lot of movie stars have places here" which is total BS. Being from Los Angeles and doing personal protection for that crowd at like the Academy Awards, I asked, "like who?" Turns out nobody could name anyone who did anything- Radnor is not a place I see Ophra living to be blunt--seems like they were naming some step sister to someone who made a X rated movie, and that qualified the boast "movie stars live at Radnor House." Not impressed with this location or anything about it....it's simply a big over priced apartment building in a little nicer part of Philly with a bunch of snotty people who are clueless. Not the sort of neighbors I want. It looks a lot like a section 8 building we abated in Los Angeles for gang activity to be honest!

This is NOT UP SCALE LIVING-LIKE SOME THINK! Its badly over hyped up to be honest!

If you have anything else--please do send it--but Radnor House is a BIG BIG PASS for me."

Radnor House is an inexpensive...

Radnor House is an inexpensive place to live on the mainline. I called this place home for three years. When the children's softball league is in full swing in neighboring Emlen Tunnell park, you'll know that spring has arrived. The lush green trees and colorful flowers lining the entrance way provide a welcoming entrance to this condominium. The rent is relatively low compared to the surrounding apartment complexes and it's quiet most of the time. The groundskeepers and maintenance staff are helpful and friendly. I could not have imagined nicer people. Note: If you plan to live here, you must avoid the management staff at all costs. Join a transcendental meditation class, a spinning class, Bible study, or yoga. You will need all the spiritual training you can get to even speak to those people. But if you are some kind of saint or divinely blessed person, they won't affect you and you could live here peaceably for many years. For the rest of us, the outlook is not so rosy. Run for the hills to nearby Radcliffe House, Rosemont, or even Bryn Mawr properties and save yourself the heartache of move-out fines, noisy neighbors, smelly hallways, uncooperative management, and unsavory vermin such as roaches and mice. Don't forget to have a blessed day.
