Golf in Maine has never been better than at the Brunswick Golf Club. Ideally located along the picturesque Midcoast region of Maine, Brunswick is the home of Bowdoin College once attended by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and US President Franklin Pierce. Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle's Tom's Cabin while living in Brunswick, and Joan Benoit, a Bowdoin graduate, won the Gold Medal at the first Women's Olympic Marathon in Los Angeles in 1984. She can still be seen running the streets of Brunswick and Freeport The Brunswick Golf Club is just minutes from Interstate 295 ( Exit 28 ) and US Route 1. A challenging, well-conditioned 18-hole gem, it is considered by many to be the best course in Midcoast Maine. Expertly maintained by Allan Greenleaf, a highly regarded Maine Golf Course Superintendent, you'll find Brunswick to be a pleasant golfing experience at a very reasonable price. Carts are always available, but it's also a great walking course with most tee boxes near the previous green. The front and back nines offer contrasting styles and dimensions. The front side, designed by Geoffrey Cornish in the 1960's, is the longer of the two. At par 37 it will test every club in your bag with its three par 5s and our signature par 3 fourth hole with water along the entire right-hand side! The back nine, originally built in 1898 was re-designed by Stiles/Van Kleek in the 1920's, is shorter and more open. At par 35 it offers plenty of birdie opportunities. Both nines are very playable from the championship, regular, women's or senior tees.
