My company recently brought an apartment building in Brooklyn and tasked me with evaluating all the necessary upgrades to bring it up to code. One of the biggest items was a huge steel fire staircase in the back of the building which had to be 100 years old and was completely deteriorated and unsafe. After speaking to a few iron works companies a friend recommended Steel Masters. They came over and within 30 minutes assessed the situation and gave me a verbal estimate as well as a plan of action as not to get any further violations. Once we contracted them they handled everything from shop drawings, demolition to final painted installation and inspection. As a general contractor, I have dealt with many steel fabricators over the years and unfortunately most of them never kept to my timeline or budgets. Steel Fabricators installed 20 expanded metal window guards at our new offices in New Jersey about two weeks ago and we were very happy with the work. When I took over management of my father’s property, I learned everything there is to know about window guards and fixed roof ladders.
