Bass , electric or upright, is the heart of a group and good bassists are the most in-demand instrumentalists. Bass moves on the border of rhythm, melody and harmony, it is the most foundational, challenging and (well, according to my opinion) charming instrument, no matter what style of music. Good bass players can inspire their fellow musicians and elevate the whole band performance, whereas bad bassists condemn the music to mediocrity... It might be hard to make it sound beautiful in the beginning, but I promise that together we are going to speed up this process. Advanced students will learn more about rhythm, harmony, soloing and playing with a band. The topics we are going to cover are: ear training, rhythm/groove, theory, harmony, soloing in various styles, sound, group playing.
