Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine dating back to Ancient History. It a Time Tested and Proven Natural Treatment. Acupuncture is based upon the concept that the body has specific channels (meridians) through which energy (Chi) flows. While this energy or Chi is flowing smoothly the natural energy is in balance. Once this flow is disrupted by mental stress, excess physical demands, or adverse environmental conditions, pain, fatigue or illness will result. Stimulating appropriate points on the meridians causes blocked energy to be released and the natural balance of energy is then restored. Research in acupuncture is ongoing in both the western medical world and in China. Although the exact mechanisms explaining how it works are not clear according to western methodology, empirical evidence shows that acupuncture is, in fact, effective in treating many ailments and pain. Acupuncture causes the brain to release natural endorphins into the bloodstream. Endorphins have an analgesic effect and are helpful in the treatment of pain. Many have a euphoric feeling after receiving an acupuncture treatment. 2 Locations: 263 7th Ave, Ste 2B, Brooklyn NY at New York's Methodist Hospital & 32 Beard St, Staten Island, NY

Great Results!

I went to Dr. Ming for a pulled hip muscle in Nov 09. I could barely bend or walk and was in great pain. I went to a traditional doc and got muscle relaxers and basically was told to stretch it out and it would heal on its own within a few weeks. I was hesitant to take drugs but couldn't deal with the pain, so I decided to give acupuncture a shot. In short, Dr. Ming is a miracle worker. By the first session my pain had lessened, by the second I had 90% movement and by the third session I was walking around normally. Many of my friends have been treated with acupuncture but have not achieved these results, so I believe Dr. Ming is a cut above the rest. The office at NY Methodist Hospital was a little hard to find, but it's well worth the trip.
