Five star always has needs if you are looking for hours. The coordinator constantly texts to see if you are available extra days or if you want to pick up shifts. They understand that times are hard and give you that opportunity. I even did some research for myself and they are the highest paying agency in Suffolk County. They give free food to the workers and the employees are welcoming. I think the bad reviews are just from other companies being associated with Five Star in error. Basically, if you follow up and are persistent it is very easy for you to get a job with the agency. You are always in contact with your coordinator, and even get to develop a good relationship with her. It sucks that such a good company gets a bad rep, especially when its something about the nursing home, which they can't control. If you address a real issue with your coordinator she is willing to switch you to another one. It has given me the opportunity to gain experience when I had none.
