This is my second visit to erena. I love the quality of their hair and customer service. I feel as if I am talking to a good friend. They truly care about their product. They also package it a beautiful bag with care instructions. This is my favorite hair store!

Afro kinky hair not baby curl

I purchased the Aaron kinky hair for twist and I have has the real twist hair from Khamit Kinks. The only reason I went with Erena is because it was going to arrive sooner. This hair is dry crunchy beauty supply old matted hair. I called to discuss- they told me to ship it back. I did ship it priority mail with return receipt. They then returned the SAME hair to me...untouched. They put it in a different bag like I would be fooled. The bag is just a random clear bag. This is infuriating as I have a hair appointment with an expectation to have new twist hair and I have this garbage!!!

I purchased the Afro Kinky Twi...

I purchased the Afro Kinky Twist hair from Erena for a kinky twist style. I was trying to find the equivalent of Khamit Kinks Baby Curl hair which takes a long time to order and when I spoke to the representatives from ERENA they assured me that it was the same. Well, I never before had the problems I had with ERENA hair. After several days of the style, my scalp itched uncontrollably. Some itching can be normal but this was different. My scalp was becoming VERY irritated. I also noted significant amounts of black dye on the shoulders/collar of all my shirts and the white jacket I wear for work (in the medical field.) It was embarrassing. I contacted ERENA hair salon and was told to shampoo my hair and that some staining on clothes is normal initially. So I shampooed my hair multiple times. This resolved the scalp irritation completely. I've had braids and extensions before and never had a scalp problem. The excessive dye seeping onto my scalp was the problem. Unfortunately, the problem with staining my clothes improved but did not stop and it became impossible for me to wear any light colored clothing. I also stained pillows/sheets and it took many, many washings to get the dye out. In addition, all that shampooing ruined the hair style and my twists were fuzzy and in desperate need of a redo. I called ERENA again, explained that I had followed their directions and informed them of my poor results.I was told they would need to see the hair in person. To resolve the issue, on a trip home to NY state, I drove over an hour into Brooklyn to go to the store. They offered to wash the hair for me so I could redo the hairstyle but it meant I had to take the Afro Kinky Twist hair out first so that they could adequately evaluate and treat the hair. I went home, took out the hair (a long process) and then drove back into Brooklyn the next day (a longer trip this time since it was rush hour). They washed and dried the hair and returned it to me in a state ready for replacement. However, I never received an apology for my inconvenience and I did not feel that they made an honest attempt to address the time and money I wasted. I bought 8 ounces of hair at their recommendation since I didn't know how much I needed. I used less than 5 ounces and my hair stylist told me 8 ounces was excessive. They could have reimbursed part of my original cost or they could have given me several new ounces to use next time. They gave me one ounce (appeared to be less) and that was it.

I got my hair redone at Khamit Kinks and speaking to a member of their staff, I learned this is not the first time this has happened. Its not a common problem but it happens frequently enough for them to be aware of it and ERENA has yet to fix the quality control problem. If you choose to use ERENA, be careful and make sure they shampoo the hair before you use it and perhaps you should too. Don't count on reasonable customer service either.

Didn't have a good experience ...

Didn't have a good experience here, but my jury is still out and I might try them one more time because of what they have to offer. Here is my eexperience went. I started placeing an order on a Thursday, but my credit card was not excepted on line. Two days latter, a saturday I placed my order to find that the two day shipping rate had gone from 25 dollars to 39 dollars. I needed the hair for a weeding that coming Friday so I had no choice but to pay the whopping shipping fee. Most companies don't ship on the weekend so my order would not go out until the coming Monday. Wednesday came and no hair. I called and was told it would come anytime now. By Thursday I had missed my hair appointment and the $39.00 shipping was mute. I called and politly stated several times my hair is not here & I paid for 2 day shipping. Finally I stated I wanted an adjustment. I was told I would be given $10.00. I stated I paid $39.00 only to receive my hair at what was a general shipping rate ($19.00). This puzzled the receptionist (did I mention the shipping prices had gone back to the lower prices I saw the day before I ordered.) The receptionis called me back and stated I would a recieve $15.00 credited back to my account. Due to the time it takes for credits to appear I do not know at the time of this review if they have followed through, but I will give them the benifit of the doubt. When I got home my hair had arrived and I found that it had only been mailed the day before. Someone dropped the ball. For what I paid for the hair ($200.00 for a small 4oz. pack) the bungled shipping fee should have been removed all together. That would have been good customer service and excellent customer service would have been to do it without me asking. The next issue was the hair itself which was the afro kinky weave hair. The hair was quite hard to the touch. The process of curling weave hair is very harsh on the hair and making a good quality afro hair is a chore within itself, perhaps all I need is to moisturize it with their moisturizer or something similar to acheive a better texture, but one review I saw talked about how soft the hair was. They must have had a different batch then mine or doesn't know what soft is. So again my jury is also out on the quality of the hair. I am willing to try ERENA Hair again due to being intrigued by their statments of their quality. Yet the little me that sits on my shoulder guiding me and whispering in my ear is saying DON'T! I am also questioning if the other reviews which are oh so positive are from real customers due to them being the same on every black hair website and this yellow page review. It has been stated on many how to shop internet blogs and wesites that the clue to a company posted review is that they are usually positive to a fault or only low grade negative issues or they use the exact same wording on more then one site and this fits the bill. Check ERENA Hair out on some of the Black hair care websites and you will find the exact same reviews that are on this site. After I have worn the hair for a month or so I will write another review and let you know if I will be dealing with ERENA Hair as a customer again. Remember if you deal with customers Treat em right and watch your profits soar. Treat them shabily and they will tell on you accross the world wide web. UDATE: Recievd the hair and loved it. However curiosity got the best of me and I did a burn test. The hair bubled/melted and burned to hard crunch ball tht easily crushed into a dark black ashe. most of the hair did disipate, however real human hair burns away to nothing or a fine powdery ashe, it will never bubble or be hard. I love the hair it looks like real afro hair, but yet I feel dupped. If it works, it works. I don't care if its synthetic. I care about honesty.

I love this company. I have been their customer for more than 10 years, They keep improving every year. They are the only company that I know for a fact has truly 100% Human hair. This hair I am wearing right now I purchased last year and this is my 3rd time using it. Their Hair Moisturizing lotion keeps the hair nice and moist with no residue. They truly stand behind their hair and products. I know for a fact that several celebrities wear their hair. Love you erena.
