If I could rate 0 stars, I would. They sent incompetent technicians for a service call in July 2011 when my 5-6 year old central air conditioning unit was not staying on for more than 5-10 mins. The two technicians spent 15-20 mins "figuring out my system" and then declared that my "compressor was shot" and that I needed a new compressor (actually wrote that on the invoice). They then showed my some supposed test which proved this to be the case and told me that I might as well order a new blower as well because then everything would be under warranty. Their estimate was about $1500 for the system plus a day of labor. They then charged my $250 for the courtesy of inspecting my system and not repairing anything.



This would be all fine if I actually needed a new compressor and system! Being immediately suspicious of these technicians and their "expert advice", I hired a another company to get a second opinion. Low and behold, as the suspected, their advice was completely wrong. The problem was a clogged evaporator water drain which was diagnosed and cleaned in about 15 min by the new tech. He even had me climb up on the ladder and showed me the problem. The AC unit has worked completely fine since then and I have had no problems. No new compressor required. The technicians that Dumbo Plumbing and Heating sent over were either poorly trained or were purposefully trying to extract much more money from me by recommending extremely costly and unnecessary repairs.



Regrettably, when I tried to follow up with the manager at Dumbo Plumbing and Heating my two calls went unreturned (he was away until "next week" but would get back to me then). I even tried to email a very long and detailed complaint letter requesting reimbursement but the email listed on their "contact us" page of their website bounces as an unknown email address. Calling back to their main number got me a new, unpublished email address to which I sent the detailed complaint letter but to date I have had no response from this company.



I had had to seek resolution through my credit card company instead.



It is disappointing, as a DUMBO resident, to have to leave a terrible review of a local business, but not only was the technical service atrocious, verging on fraudulent but their customer service was equally appalling. Stay away and do not call these guys for service, especially if you have a central air system common in DUMBO buildings.

Incredibly savvy technicians! Have been using these guys for a few years now, ever since I moved to Brooklyn. These technicians are always on time! No matter the problem, big or small, they seem to diagnosis it within a few minutes of looking/poking around. Quick, reliable, trustworthy, patient, knowledgable, all the good things you can say!

I have had some bad experiences with plumbers from other companies where the guy was rude, late, never showed some even tried to charge me an arm and a leg. The guy from Dumbo Plumbing and Heating was very nice. He was on time and the price was acceptable. Dumbo Plumbing and Heating is the first call anyone should make if they had plumbing or heating problems.

had a problem with my toilet last night. a few other companies told me they could have someout out the next day. when I called dumbo plumbing and heating i was told they could have someone out to my house within an hour. and just like they said someone was at my house within an hour. now thanks to dumbo plumbing and heating and their quick response my toilet flushes normally now.

Five stars isn't enough for how thrilled I was with the service I recieved. The guy showed up like half an hour after I called tools in hand and ready to work. H fixed my pipe in no time and was very very plesant.

Josh from Dumbo Plumbing and Heating did a great job fixing my toilet. It was clogged. He came right away and even explained what he was going to do before he did it. Like I said great plumber.

The technician was prompt, courteous, efficiant and seemed to know what he was doing. He did get straight to work when he got here after he figured out the problem. It took him a few hours to fix but other then that I was very pleased with the service i recieved.
