I file this complaint to alert and warn other consumers of the shady business practices of

Consumers Energy Group Inc. so that they may avoid a similar fate. While a delivery/ free service agreement was entered into with Consumers Energy Group with good intensions, believing that I would receive as advertized a quality product [bio-fuel] and good service, I received neither. The heating system that had worked well with marginally more expensive fuel oil supplied from Petro did not perform well - unreliable, frequent fouling and failures - with bio-fuel oil provided by Consumers Energy Group. After several service calls the heating system still did not perform to expectations and the recommended service solution by Nassau Plumbers, the service subsidiary, was to replace the system. Further, possibly due to delivery overfill, moisture/ other contents of bio-fuel product or other unknown circumstances the home fuel oil tank failed and started leaking within approximately [9] months of initiating deliveries - upon review of service contract it was determined that tank was not covered, luckily most of the remediation was covered by insurance. Regardless, a new tank was purchased and installed from Nassau Plumbers and although tank installation took some [5] months to complete and heating system was still prone to unreliable performance. Consumers Energy Group was then advised by phone and in writing that product quality was deemed unacceptable. All billings by Consumers Energy Group - bio-fuel deliveries and service were resolved prior to suspending delivery and nothing further was heard until notification of summons and complaint was received over [12] months after what I thought termination for cause, demanding 2500-$ in damages [lost revenues on pre-purchased fuel in rising cost market - should have been savings - and legal fees]! This case has subsequently been pursued with vigor by Consumers Energy Group and legal representative Kirschhenbaum & Kirschhenbaum , resulting in much stress and anxiety, including recent hearing and judgment for plaintiff, based on contractual language interpretations. While not over - fat lady has yet to sing - I have initiated a number of complaints - including Office of NYS Attorney General [possible fraud investigation] and will continue to pursue with cause until resolved. I see now that Consumers Energy Group Inc. is not accredited by the BBB, having a number of unresolved complaints and a D- score [A to F scale] - shame on me for not reviewing before entering into an agreement.
