Horrifying time here on V Day, 2/4/15! The bleached-blonde owner couldn't be more over-the-top, horrible, shady, cheap Russian caricature/stereotype. Way to make Russians look bad, you "crazy" lady! Larisa, of gemini and scorpio, was her shady partner in crime. Illegal crime not paying someone for a night of work, called "Theft of Services" in NY. Way over capacity, understaffed, disgustingly unsanitary, & smelled like mold, too. No staff cared about that. Owner had no prob screaming at everyone & treating her regular staff & temp staff like garbage. No concern for health code violations, nor the safety/personal security of any staff or guests. Owner had requested paid workers to set up tables at 8pm. She cancelled them at 7:55pm when they were in her lobby. When it was time to be paid at 1 a.m., the owner & Larisa turned on each other & argued over who would pay me the $ 150 that was my GUARANTEE. Got it 2 hrs later after endless arguing. Owner KEPT ALL MY TIPS for the night! FU!

Love this place, very nice set up, everything is nice and clean all the staff was very helpful. I'm hooked on the platsa. The food was unbelievable, garlic potatoes, grilled chicken, garden salad, bread with garlic, and the tea with cherries!!!! Will be back very soon. I only wish it was closer. I live in Manhattan.

I went to Brooklyn Banya this afternoon and had a really great time!

This isn't a spa, but a traditional bath. They have a dry sauna, a wet sauna, a steam room, a jacuzzi and a cold pool. They do offer services like massage and things, but go with reasonable expectations. This is not Bliss. But a very nice bath, nonetheless. And if you're using the Groupon, what do you expect for $15. It's clean, pretty empty during the week, and the roof deck is really nice.

What surprised me the most was the food. I had been once before, but didn't eat. We ordered with limited expectations and the food was really authentic and delicious.

Such a great way to spend a few hours on a summer day!

Hospitality - I can't really see how people can come here and not have a good time. Me and the gf had been planning on coming here for at one-two months now. Every time we thought we were going to go (for the groupon deal) we called to check availability, get info, etc. We changed our minds multiple times about the dates we could go, but every time we called Alona answered the phone and was super friendly. When we finally did arrive, we were welcomed with the same friendliness. Facility - I came on a Sunday afternoon. The place was busy, but not overcrowded. I never felt like I couldn't enter a pool or steam room because there were too many people. From the time I was there, til the time that I left, I saw staff monitoring the steam rooms, providing clean towels, keeping the locker rooms clean. There are two large pools (much larger than Body By Brooklyn) and 3 different types of steam rooms to enjoy. There is also plenty of seats to lounge by the pools and enjoy some food

They do serve alcoholic beverages, I go there all the time very friendly polite and caring people . Also extremely clean . I love the female owner she is great and runs the business with her husband very great people

Brooklyn Banya is set up like most other Banya's: hot tub, cold pool, dry sauna, wet sauna and steam room. Also, a place to eat and drink and a lounge area. This one also has a rooftop jacuzzi and the occasional DJ night. Fun times. Why is this Banya special? This Banya is staffed by a group of people who really care, if your'e not sure what to do - they will help. If you're hungry, they'll recommend something good. If you aren't satisfied, SAY SO - they want to make your experience 100% enjoyable. Plus, there is a kitty. :) Why is this Banya special to me? After a really really hard year (read: full of physical and emotional losses and major family stress), this Banya saved my life. Coming here with my husband helped me relax and pamper myself after suffering so long. We go regularly to reconnect and to help us deal with life's challenges. Banya is more than just a spa, more than just a social place - it's a place of meditation and relaxation. It's like a second home.
