We have had a wonderful experience using Beacon for our move to California. The same nice man loaded our belongings in Syracuse, NY and delivered them to our new home in Los Angeles CA/ Everything arrived in exactly the same condition it was when packed. Nothing was harmed or broken. The truck and staff arrived at exactly the time they had quoted to us in both locations. We would definitely use Beacon again, tho am hoping this will be our last move.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I had read the reviews. They told me to give them 1 week notice to deliver my belongings. I gave them 2 weeks and followed up day after day and they kept stringing me along telling me that the driver would "let me know" when he was closer. I'm hoping he gives me more than 24 hours notice on delivery. They also instructed me that I need to pay them in cash or in money order. The delivery policy was never communicated to me, so crossing my fingers. Will update once I get my stuff...

After reading these reviews I was skeptical...then I checked the rating with the BBB. They have a very good rating.

My Mother just moved from New Jersey to Florida. She has her hands full raising four grandchildren and needed an affordable and trustworthy moving service. I called and compared over a dozen companies and Beacon offered the most for a very competitive price (The best quote we could find)! We filled out the inventory list and I suggested my mother also schedule a free estimate to make sure the binding quote would be accurate. We are all human and it is easy to overlook things or assume you have less than you really do. My Mom was very impressed with the professionalism and well mannered movers...lol. She said they were very educated and so polite! They moved it all to her new address in less than a week! Thank God it all arrived in beautiful condition. They also boxed and wrapped the breakables for her. She has asked that I leave a positive rating and convey her excellent experience with Beacon moving. I would suggest that you take advantage of the itemized list and free estimate to make sure you have a realistic quote. Her move cost less than half of what the competing movers quoted us. It would have cost more to rent a moving truck! I am grateful it was such a positive experience for my Mom. I will not look at moving the same way. They really took the stress out of her move! Thank you Tatiana for taking good care of my Mom!

Dont bother. There is no customer service. There is no accountability or responsibility. Forget about planning anything around your move, once they have ur money it's all down hill. Don't bother writing fragile on any boxes, they can't read. You will be lucky to find someone who can speak the American language. AVOID!

Excellent service overall, I was recommended to these guys by another mover that couldn't accommodate my move dates. I was really surprised how they were able to help me with all my issues and answered everything so effectively. The agent that showed up for the move was very polite. clean, and respectable. I'm very happy with the services overall I wish I would of been able to called them first and saved a few dollars for early booking (i found out from the movers about this discount only after they were already in the house) That would've been nice to have a early bird discount of some sort but that's not their fault.

I just completed a move with Beacon Moving from MI to NY , they did a great job communicating I knew what was going on the whole time while they had my stuff on the truck. I got phone calls from Regina the girl from the office telling when I would get my stuff, the driver George called to tell me what time he'd be coming to delivery, Joe called to make sure everything went smoothly. These guys are on top of their game and really know how to make sure things go off without a hitch! I was really impressed when I got my stuff delivered within 6 days!! That was my biggest concern delivery over a week and I would kill myself without my things in my new apt. How could anyone live in an empty apt or camp out for a over a week in a hotel ... I'm very glad and thankful I picked Beacon Company to move my items out here. Thanks!

We have been waiting for our things to arrive for nearly a month now. They claimed it would get here July 6th, but have been over three weeks late so far. They finally called last Sunday, three days ago and told us they would arrive Wednesday evening between 4 and 8pm. It is 8pm now and we have been calling them since 6pm. The call kept going to voicemail. THEY FINALLY CALLED AFTER 8PM AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT ARRIVE UNTIL TOMORROW NOW. This company is the MOST disrespectful, most unprofessional, and most HORRIBLE company out there!!! They didn't bother answering their phone. They didn't bother calling us until after the time window they gave so we have been sitting here waiting and expecting them.



I cannot express how badly I want this company to FAIL.

They are LIARS and have broken the contract!!



I have explained how this company has been handling our moving situation earlier. We moved from Alexandria, VA to Belmont, CA. They said it would arrive by July 6th and it is now July 29th. They are saying it will be here by July 31st. (In my last post they said it would be July 26 or 27th.) We have had to keep calling regularly just to hear some updates or they will simply not let you know what is going on (and they definitely NEVER CALL YOU BACK).

Every time we called they would tell us another date, and it would never be true. Then they would say a few more days...another week...another week. Meanwhile we are staying in a motel and spending extra money while we wait for our things to arrive. They do not care about the timing. All they want is a ton of deals so they make the most money along the way from East coast to West coast.

On the contract it stated that the absolute last day they can deliver was July 27th. Even though the contract has been broken they just don't care. They still expect payment when our things arrive or they will put our things in storage and not deliver them. They make the drivers sign off on payment before they release your own personal items. It is absolute robbery.

This whole experience has been extremely STRESSFUL since we have to deal with the constant lying. I cannot express how much we regret going with this company, even though they had quoted us a cheaper price than other companies. Now we understand WHY they do that. It is not worth it!!!!

The dispatchers never know what's going on, George, the owner, doesn't respect or care for his customers, Joe is the salesman that promises you everything will work out when you are paying for the deposit and the drivers are with a completely other company that tells them where to stop and go. I cannot say enough bad things about Beacon Moving and Storage.

If you are looking for a moving company: PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

This company is the worst!!! Do not go with them if you are considering moving companies!! They offer you a cheaper price than other companies but you pay for more the day they are moving your things into a truck and then the whole process is so horrible that the cheaper price is definitely not worth it.

We had our things picked up from Alexandria, VA and we were told our things would arrive in California on July 6th. It is July 25th and we still do not have our things. I am pregnant and sleeping on either a horrible motel mattress or an air mattress in our apartment depending on the night. We are spending tons of money just waiting for them to arrive. They kept our things in storage for the first two weeks without moving them!! They claimed a truck broke down, but I've read through reviews now to know that they keep your things until they feel they have enough jobs to do. Earlier this week the driver said it would be Friday or Saturday for our delivery (July 26 or 27th). Now he is saying it will be the end of the weekend or early next week. Our contract states that the last possible date they can deliver is Saturday so we expect to receive our money back if they break the contract.

Joe is the smooth talker salesman who promises that everything will work out in the beginning. He is the first dishonest person you will come into contact with. And then when you call to track your shipment you have these clueless girls answering who never know what is going on. The people who DO know what's going on are NEVER IN THE OFFICE and they are always promising to call you back but (of course) never do. George, the owner, is conniving, rude and greedy.

We moved cross-country and what they do is tell the driver to do more jobs and more jobs throughout the drive across country until there is no more left to do and then they'll drop off your things a month later (or longer).

DO NOT GO WITH THIS GREEDY, LYING COMPANY!

LIARS, LIARS, LIARS!!! My husband and I needed a moving company quickly to go from Alexandria, VA to Belmont, CA (Basically Washington D.C. to San Francisco) for a new job. The salesman I talked to, Joe, was a smooth talker from the start and promised that our things would arrive on July 6th. The moving company was actually Amiran Van Lines and they were hours late in picking our things up on June 27th. They have been lying to us all along the way about when our delivery date will be and it has been 26 days today since they picked up our things. The driver is still driving from Indiana to Missouri currently and "hopes to be in California by the end of the week" which is highly unlikely since they have also given him more jobs to do and he isnt even halfway across the U.S. They consolidate your furniture with other peoples' furniture and drop their things off along the way so you have to wait longer if you are farther out. We were told that for the first two weeks our things were sitting in storage in Virginia because "a truck had broken down" and it would take longer now to receive our things. From numerous other reviews I see that they say that to everyone. We have been paying for an apartment as well as hotel stays for more than two weeks just waiting for our things to arrive. It looks like they may be able to arrive next week sometime after August 1st. Instead of the 10 days they promised they could be an additional 25 or more days late.



So we still do NOT have our things. We have tried talking to the owner, George, and he is extremely rude and does not care. I talked to Mike, a supervisor, and he just gives the line that the truck was broken down for the first two weeks. The other girls you get on the phone are polite, but never know what's going on; they just put you on hold until they reach a supervisor.



This has been the WORST company we have EVER dealt with. Please beware and do not use them!! They may be cheap, but you will pay for it later with hotel stays, eating out and emotional distress!

Delivery they showed up 10 day...

Delivery they showed up 10 days later around 8pm (wasn't able to do morning) which was fine I was told originally it would take up to 14 days to arrive in NY, so they actually came out earlier than expected. Everything came off the truck in perfect condition and nothing was broken or missing. The same crew of guys delivered and I appreciate everything these guys did and worked hard both at pickup and delivery. These guys are punctual and hard working. I will defiantly be recommending them and using them again in the future!

The one thing I loved was they...

The one thing I loved was they didn't treat my stuff like it was garbage , they took their time and invested in packing and protecting my stuff to make sure nothing would be broken or damaged when it traveled across the country.
