La Voile, or "The Sail," welcomes you to one of Boston's most authentic French restaurants. La Voile has all the casual elegance of a brasserie and the warm hospitality of a bistro. The concept for our restaurant was inspired by a serendipitous turn of events when a sailor docked for the winter in the old port of Cannes. The sailor happened to dock his sailboat across the street from La Voile au Vent ( The Sail in the Wind ) the meeting place of the Cannes' classic sail boat community. Over time, and many glasses of wine, the Sailor befriended the owners of La Voile au Vent, and the plan to move the restaurant to Boston was hatched.
