Winifred Wheeler Nursery School offers Head Start and day care programs to develop the cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills of students. Located in Bronx, N.Y., Winifred Wheeler Nursery School works in partnership with East Side House Settlement, which offers various early childhood, adult education and after-school programs. Founded in 1891, it employs full- and part-time teachers, social workers and other experts who serve over 8,000 residents from more than 10 locations throughout New York. East Side House Settlement s after-school and evening programs serve approximately 1,700 children between the ages of 2 and 17.
