i grew up on Thieriot ave. just up the street from the school. i walked there every day and played in the schoolyard there during recess and also on afternoons after school. During those years, it was a school attended by very bright children from nearby neighborhoods mostly from parkchester. i skipped a grade and after the final year in the sixth. i went to P.S. 48 to attend the 7th and 8th grades prior to going to high school. At that time i went to Evander Childs from 1949- to 1953. Then i was accepted to City College. So my education was very good at P.S.102 to establish a base to build on.
