Located in Bronx, N.Y., Prospect Family Inn is operated by Homes for the Homeless, a provider of education, employment and transitional housing services to homeless families in New York City. Prospect Family Inn houses more than 80 families and offers residential and social services to help residents reintegrate into the work force and move on to regular housing. The inn has an accelerated after school program for children and alternative high school for their parents. Its facility includes various workshop rooms, classrooms, computer laboratories and day care areas. The family inn offers a wide variety of services, such as family support, counseling, housing search assistance, literacy programs, summer camps, and recreational and cultural programs. The recreational programs include cultural arts, theater and sports events, such as softball and basketball.
