Odyssey House Lafayette Avenue is part of Odyssey House, helping people residing in West Bronx and Hunts Point neighborhoods in New York to achieve lasting sobriety through a gender-specific approach. The center provides a peer-driven environment to young adults to live and learn. Personalized support is offered to girls to grow into healthy adults with the help of a multi-disciplinary team comprising healthcare personnel, teachers and counselors. Treatment services give emphasis on nurturing areas that are often influenced by substance use, such as school, self-esteem, mental health, family and other relationships. Odyssey House supports families dealing with homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness and other medical problems. It has branches in various locations in the US, including Texas, Michigan, Utah and Louisiana, and also in New Zealand and Australia.
