Aparna Polavarapu, MD, is Attending Physician at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Polavarapu’s clinical focus is on pediatric neurology and the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric epilepsy. From 2005 to 2012, Dr. Polavarapu completed a seven-year combined Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine program, receiving her BA from Lehigh University in 2009 and her MD from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2012. She continued at Drexel University and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children to start her postdoctoral training, completing a pediatric residency in 2014 and a pediatric neurology residency and fellowship in 2017. She then pursued a yearlong pediatric epilepsy fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, completing it in 2018. Dr. Polavarpu’s research follows her clinical focus in pediatric neurology and pediatric epilepsy. She’s shared her research through presentations and submissions to peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Polavarapu is board certified and a member of the American Epilepsy Society, the Child Neurology Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
