Margo Sheck Breilyn, MD, is an Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, her clinical focus has been inborn errors of metabolism, including lysosomal storage diseases.In 2011, Dr. Breilyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Clark University. She then attended Stony Brook University School of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2015. Her postgraduate training began in 2015 with a 4-year residency in combined Pediatrics/Medical Genetics at Icahn School of Medicine. In 2019, she completed the Clinical Research Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and received her Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods.Dr. Breilyn’s research on clinical outcomes in patients with inborn errors of metabolism and lysosomal storage diseases naturally follows from her clinical focus. Her work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and abstracts and has been presented nationally.In 2015, she was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award by Winthrop University Hospital for clinical excellence and leadership. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
