East Side House Settlement is a nonprofit organization that provides educational and technology skills to the residents of the south Bronx, N.Y. Established 1891, the organization offers services to more than 8,000 residents from over 10 locations. It provides adult and supplemental educational and college preparation programs. The organization s after-school and evening programs serve more than 1,700 children between the ages of 2 and 17. Its Technology Center is equipped with a large computer laboratory that provides Internet access and computer training for children and adults. The organization has a staff of more than 200 employees, including full- and part-time teachers and social workers. East Side House Settlement maintains its headquarters in the Bronx, N.Y.
