Champion Bakery was opened in 1977. The original name was Coin Bakery. To better serve our customers we moved from 224th Street on White Plains Road to 225th street in the same location in the Bronx. Jackson Hoo, Edson Nembhard, and Gloria Nembhard (Miss G) opened the New York based business. The company's president and founder Jackson Hoo has been in the bakery business for 65 years. Jackson Hoo ...also has bakery in St Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies. He brought to New York in the mid seventies different types of hard dough breads like Mongoose bread, Duck, Crown, and Alligator to name a few. Champion Bakery guarantees hot breads every day except Sundays. Champion bakery also has delicious beef, chicken and vegetable patties. Champion Bakery started out with 2 employees and now has 20. With the rising of so many bakeries in New York, Champion Bakery is standing strong and is still flourishing.
