The Asmara Ballroom located on 2165 Powell Avenue Bronx,NY 10473 gets zero stars from me. I threw my daughters Quinceanera at this place and Nothing went right. First the owner was very unprofessional. I didn't know what was being served food wise until 3 days before the party and the guy didn't even know the name of the Resturant that would be catering and when he did finally get a menu to me it was a take out menu from a local cuchifrito. Then on the day of the party, the color bows and table cloths were the wrong color even though I told them over and over and even wrote the color on the contract and I even went into their linen closet and showed them the color my daughter wanted for her party they still got it wrong. Then the owner told me that he refuses to have his worker change them because blue is blue mind you they had the tables in the color teal. Afterwards he tells me if I want the color changed I would have to change it myself. So because of their mistake I had to change 14 tables myself that's 125 chair bows. Because of this I was unable to dress my daughter for her party because it took along time that I ended up getting dressed in the bathroom because our guest were arriving and I still wasn't ready. Then he tells me that the bartender he hired for my party canceled on him at the last minute and that he was trying to get another one. My cousin had to bartender until the alternate bartender came in 3 hours into the party we finally had a bartender. Oh not to mention that the DJ arrived 20 minutes before the party started and I was unable to go over the song list and the announcement not to mention that they didn't speak English and played Spanish music all night long and when I asked them to play English music all the had was songs with cursing and foul language mind you this party was for my teenage daughter. My daughter had to write a list of songs and give it to them to download. Also the DJ messed up the announcements and every time I asked them to lower the music they kept making it louder. My niece sang the song for the father daughter dance but we could not hear her because the music was to loud even though we re pearly told the to lower the music over and over. And even with all of this I made sure that my daughter enjoyed herself no thanks to the people of Asmara Ballroom. Not to mention that the floors were real dirty and all of the table linens were stained and so were the chair covers they were also ripped and torn and had holes in them. This is the worst place ever. And then when it was time to give me my deposit back the owner refused to give us anything back. Even though I was told the if the party goes off without any problems I would be returned my deposit. DO NOT BOOK ANY PARTIES WITH THE PLACE UNLESS TOU WANT UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICES DIRTY BROKEN STAINED AND TORN TABLE AND CHAIR COVERS DIRTY FLOORS! And my daughters had to clean the mirrors in the bathrooms because they we filthy as well! #asmaraballroom
