Typically, I would give anyone the benefit of a doubt...
Saturday 7-30-16 event/wedding day. There was no greeter to assist in setting up, the doors were open and we were left to figure it out . We could not get the ovens to work, they told her there would be 8 round tables setup (there was only 6). We had no one to set up 2 or more tables if needed. The conditions of the facility was less then acceptable. The hard surface floors, carpets, kitchen, bathrooms (smelled of old urine) & main dining room were visibly dirty. We were forced to clean the kitchen & main dining area. Pulling up outdoors was welcoming, well kept and clean.
Later during the mass confusion, a man came to me to ask if I was in charge... I said "no, but do you work here?" I was still looking for management or someone who could help . His reply was, "no, I am the owner". "What does that mean?" From there I am not sure where the conversation went, but I am sure I did not give him the business. I needed to have my sisters day go on without any further madness.
Clearly, this couple do not need to be running a business that involve hospitality and events.
I would not recommend the "Cornbread House" of Bridgeton as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice.

My youngest daughter, age twenty-five, told me about this place saying the food was great. Loving southern cooking and soul food like I do I heeded her advice. I have never ordered pork chops, not that I don't eat them but they are not one of my favorite cuts of pork. I decided to order pork chops with all the traditional sides. I have tasted food but few ever were as enjoyable. Big portions, tender and packed with southern flavor. Especially the pork gravy. Simply the BEST pork gravy I ever tasted in my fifty-nine years. Very reasonable prices. The place is so clean you can eat off the floor. The staff are friendly. Try it. You will be glad you did!
