The Garage Door Center was originally part of Automatic Door Co. which was founded on April 23, 1973. The garage door industry has evolved tremendously since that time. The Garage Door Center has evolved from a garage door dealership into a full fledged manufacturing company. The company specializes in the fabrication, painting/staining, and installation of custom garage doors and matching entrance doors. The company now maintains a showroom and installation location in Fairfield, a manufacturing facility in Bridgeport and a sister installation company in Trumbull. The showroom was built in 2004 to allow homeowners, architects and builders to view the many styles and options that are available today. The manufacturing facility and Fairfield showroom were incorporated under Architectural Door Corp. in 2006. Architectural Door Corp.'s capabilities include design assistance, in house CAD design, custom wood and composite door fabrication, custom painting and staining, matching entrance doors and garage doors, energy star rated replacement and new construction windows, computer fabricated templates to assist carpenters when framing arched openings, CNC routering, installation of doors and openers, etc. The company services all products after installation.
