The staff is really nice and the service is good. The sushi is fine, but a bit pricey. The atmosphere is a bit on the cafeteria side in the big area and the smaller area near the sushi bar is a little more cozy, but so close to the sushi chefs and the kitchen that it takes away from the coziness. Portion size is average to small. Nothing really stands out as great nor terrible.

I have been to more Japanese restaurants in the United States than I can begin to count, and I say without hesitation that Miyako is one of my all-time favorites. The sushi is just as beautiful as it is delicious. The fish is always bright, fresh, and tasty. The selection is an absolute cornucopia of traditional and creative rolls. In addition, the teriyaki entrees, bento boxes, and even noodles are wonderfully cooked. The head chef is a genius! (and so are the sushi-chefs... real artists.) I don't usually like lightly fried sushi. However, the dragon roll and the summertime roll at Miyako are unquestionably some of the best choices I have ordered there. Peter's Thai and Sushi pales in comparison, and is over-priced for the lacking (and oftentimes rude) service and portion size. I strongly suggest those who think Miyako is inferior give it another try. It's incomparable, and the service is doubtlessly superior. My husband and I go to Miyako at least once every two weeks, and would go much more if time allowed. Truly exquisite.

Miyako's is the place we compare everyone else's sushi to. My favorite is the Dragon Roll, but everything we have tried we have enjoyed. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is always welcoming. I recommend this place over and over again!!!
