The landfills serve as collection sites for municipal solid waste from commercial haulers and vehicles operating under commercial status. It serves as a collection site for various waste materials, such as household refuse, tree and yard trimmings, lumber and furniture, radioactive materials, auto body shredder wastes, fuels, heavy metals, explosives, pesticides and contaminated soil. It also provides thrash collection and recycling services. The Orange County Landfill is located in Brea, Calif.
