Provided by YPmobileI used to come here with locals for the music. Now my friends have moved out of state and I have to come to the area to visit eye specislists. Following eye surgery my daughter and I had to stay in the area for the night. We decided to come to the Chowder Post for dinner. I got the crab casserole. It was Yummy, perfectly cooked and not too bready. One month later I am back for a follow up with my doctor and also back for the crab. Thank you Chowder Pott. Good food and good service.

Provided by YP.comFirst off, I am a Branford local and have been to the "POT" many times. The food is usually good, except for last night. I ordered the famous seafood platter. The shrimp and scallops were good, the fish was less than generous but the primary offender was the whole belly clams. They severed me spoiled clams; they smelled awful and tasted worse than they smelled. I didn’t eat the clams; I cannot believe that the chef (if there is a chef) would serve rotten seafood. When I told the bartender the clams were bad, I thought I would get to talk to the manager, I guessed wrong. Evidentially they were too busy and couldn't be bothered. They took $5 off my bill, that’s it. They probably kept on serving clams the rest of the night too. If you are looking for seafood in the Branford/Guilford area go to Lenny's over in Indian Neck, they will not serve you rotten seafood. If you go to the Chowder Pot there is a good chance you will spend the rest of your evening on the pot!

Provided by YP.comFirst time there, clam chowder had no flavor and potatoes were uncooked. 2nd time there, lobster bisque was cold and also uncooked which gave the whole group stomach aches. It took 20 minutes to find a waitress and reheat the food to an edible temperature. We ordered a meal to go and they overcharged us on the free bread. At the very end of the bad service and bad food, the manager came over to reprimand us because a 5 year old girl in our group was playing with her Happy meal toy and eating some leftover french fries and he said we are not allowed to ever bring in outside food and not to let it happen again. The attitude he gave us summed up the whole night and thankfully it won't happen again because we'll never go back.
